Good, but not quite Wing Chun
Matt Richards from Wolverhampton, England,
6th October, 2005
As with his Sil Lim Tao DVD, Master Wong presents a Wing Chun form which is not actually Wing Chun, but a form he has personally developed. As a result, unless you actually train at Wong's academy, this DVD is useless as a resource for Wing Chun practitioners as far as forms go. Wong calls this form Thum Kiu, rather than Chum Kiu. In 'real' Wing Chun, Chum Kiu means 'searching the bridge'. Thum Kiu means 'sinking the bridge'. I actually like Wong's method of 'sinking' rather than 'searching'. There's no doubting the man has talent and I do really like his take on the Wing Chun system. But I cannot recommend this DVD as a resource on forms for Wing Chun practitioners.
