This sequel to Disney's 1997 hit film finds the clumsy ape man from Jay Ward's 1967 television cartoon perfectly content after having married the beautiful Ursula and fathering a child. However, all is not well in George's jungle kingdom because Ursula's scheming mother, Beatrice, has hatched a plan designed to induce Ursula to leave the klutzy George. Rounding up Ursula's still smitten ex-fiance, Beatrice plots to hypnotise Ursula and steal the jungle out from under George's feet.

Not a good sequel!

A Customer from sussex, 30th March, 2005

The actors have changed and there is no spark between these two. Not half as funny as the first film disappointing.

First one was better

BooBiscuit from Bromley, 2nd September, 2004

The actor who plays George in this one, isn't a patch on Brendan Frazer. I think the original idea should have stayed original, the first one was very good and funny, but i'm afraid this didn't live up to the expectations I had for it.

It was not good enough for me as I had expected. Gorge of the Jungle 1 was a lot better and a lot funnier. Less graphics and special effects would make it a lot better. Last of all, I think it could have been a lot better if it wasn't for the lousy script too.

Pretty much apes the first one

Once you’ve got used to the fact that most of the main characters are played by different actors; it’s an enjoyable film (assuming you enjoyed the first movie)

The humour level has been stepped down by a few notches, and the Brendan Fraser reference rankles after the first time it’s used. Kyle gets the best one-liner, as he explains why he’s late for a meeting…

Chris Shower has a difficult job following Fraser who, let’s face it, IS George of the Jungle, but he handles the part competently enough; and he does have the gentle character, along with the muscles.

A good family film with a warm cosy ending. Don’t miss the ‘out-takes’ during the credits!

Customer Review

A Customer from UK, 23rd June, 2008

The film continues in the same light hearted manar of the first film. It is a pitty that they were not able to get the same actor to play George but it does give them the opertunity for a joke or two.

There is a story line, just, but that is all this sort of 'relax and giggle' type of film needs.

A good film to give the brain a rest with!

Not as good as the orginal but not utter rubbish.

Cornetto from , 12th August, 2007

George of the Jungle 2 is not as good as the orginal but not a rubbish and other sequels. It was funny in parts but I thought that the delivery of them could have been better. My children thought it was good and sat okay throughout although they didn't keep as still watching it as well as the original.
