Here's where it all started. Stuart (Aidan Gillen) has everything--he's rich, handsome, and always at the center of attention. Although he's quite arrogant, he also seems to be quite perfect. His best mate Vince (Craig Kelly) is funny, good-looking, and endearing, but unlike Stuart he has no confidence in himself. Vince, of course, carries a torch for Stuart, but nothing romantic has happened between them. They're both in their late-20s, hitting Canal Street every night and just starting to think about where their lives may be going. Suddenly, along comes Nathan (Charlie Hunnam), a young man who has recent come out and parties with a vengeance. Soon Nathan has wedged himself into the lives of Stuart and Vince--changing everything. This release includes eight episodes of the immensely popular series on two discs.

Loved It. Excellent!

Debbie from Scotland, 25th May, 2005

I loved watching this series again (after missing a few episodes when it was aired on TV) I'm a straight woman and found being able to get an insight into the lives and loves of some attractive gay men, exiting and educating! Not the usual stereotypical portrayal of gays, but a hardhitting look at the lives of the central characters. I remember there being a big hoo hah about the explicit sex scenes at the time of it's airing on TV - but I didn't find the sex scenes were any more explicit than any others I've seen on TV. The only difference is that the scenes are of gay sex. I personally fancy Stuart like mad (who couldn't?) and find his confidence and sex appeal draws me into the show even more. Can't wait for each episode to start to find out what happens. Superb watching, no matter what your sexual orientation is. RENT NOW!

Queer As Folk is responsible to a couple of things: first, hundreds of straight women flocked to canal street at the weekends. (it's not a petting zoo) secondly, straight men enjoyed the show, the walls of homophobia began to fall and finally, Mothers across the country began asking their sons about 'rimming'. A modern masterpiece, I cannot fault it. from the camp 'drama queen' dialogue by Nathan to the wonder that is Hazel. If your straight or gay, rent this and be educated.

Disappointing

A Customer from England, 18th January, 2006

After being told about the American version, and how excellent it was, I could not wait to see the British version. How dissapointed I was. While the story line was a perfect view on life, the acting really put me off. Surely they could find better actors to play those parts?
