Not Worthy

KalvinChapman from , 5th March, 2010

I was quite excited to see a film set in London by British people. How dissapointed I was. Two actors could act in it, the rest were just simply cringe-worthy - no wonder I've not heard of them before - people with bad acting skills should not try to be someone else - it sounds false, and is fairly horrific to watch. Not sure what David Morris wanted to say with this mish-mash of stories - the script had no central them - it's like catching one episode of Eastenders - no beginning and no end. What the hell was the 9 year old doing? As well as bad acting, hanging a barbie was just out of place. It tried far too hard, and the more it tried, the harder it was to watch. I'm afraid it is not something I would watch again - why can't we Brits do good movies? We used to be fantastic at it, now it's all ham-acting and people who can't remember their lines.

Annoyingly Disappointing

MissFlix from , 22nd February, 2010

This is a chick-flick about the changing relationships among the gay male friends of a female narrator. The concept is fine and it had the potential to be fun and likable, but it fails on some very basic levels. The main problem for me is the actor playing Alex (a central character). His acting is so appallingly bad that he single-handedly ruins the whole film. He recites his lines in the sort of GCSE-drama-class way that made me wonder how on earth he got the part - really dreadful. The rest of the cast are passable, although there is some noticable straight-playing-gay awkwardness, especially in the first ten minutes. The whole production also has an amateurish feel, but that would be excusable if the performances were better. On the upside, it's British and set around London, and a couple of the characters are quite likable (and nice to look at). Basically, it's hard to watch it without thinking 'I could have done this better myself'.

When is gay cinema going to be good?!

mattryder from , 10th February, 2010

Cringeworthy excuse for a gay film...really disappointed with the good selection of actors in the film I honestly thought this would be a good watch but it was awful! acting was wooden and empty, I was bored pretty much all the way through...wish that someone would make an actually good good gay drama...Queer as Folk both here in the UK and the US have managed to do so...why is it so hard?! I would recommend giving this one a miss unless you really can't sleep!

QUIRKY BUT ENJOYABLE

OscarFreak from , 4th February, 2010

This is the type of UK movie that I enjoy, quirky in parts but there is a story line and one felt akin to some of the characters more than others. Does it reflect life in parts I think so.
