Boldly going - further into Scifi Comedy

Samem from , 20th November, 2009

Why would you watch Starhyke when there are series like Hyperdrive out there? Let me tell you why… For a start, it’s more original than Hyperdrive, its fresher, has better effects and it’s got a superb ensemble cast from the sci-fi world. Starhyke is a great series that just goes from strength to strength as each episode rockets through the universe of sci-fi comedy. You can’t help grinning at the hilarity and just plain awkwardness at some of the situations the crew find themselves in. Since Red Dwarf, no one has attempted to meld the world of sci-fi with the awkwardness of some of the Monty Python sketches with such skill, but Starhyke hits all the spots. As with all series, it’s a slightly slow start, but once you get into the story and you get past the first couple of episodes, you’ll be laughing out loud. If you’re a sci-fi fan and loved Red Dwarf, this is for you.

So Bad

A Customer from Birmingham, 2nd January, 2010

It all starts well with nice theme music and cgi, then: bad scripts, poor acting, tired juvenile jokes, awful sound, and it's just boring. No wonder there was no second series.

Absolute load of rubbish. No Star rating for this.
Can not believe that they would actually make this kind of film.
It's so bad it untrue. Even the old 70's space 1999 is alot better than this. Acting is terrible and i only managed probably 10 mins, I had to switch it of.
Don't waste your time trust me on this. Give me V any day and even that was not brilliant.

Starhyke

Claudia Christian is usually excellent in whatever part she turns her hand to. However, Starhyke is of such poor quality nothing she could do will bring this sad series above the 'painful' level. The premise for the story has so much potential. It is such a shame the script is such a mess! The comedy is non-existant and completely inane. The supporting actors do nothing whatsoever - literally, to make this production even remotely funny. I'm sorry I wasted a rental credit on this rubbish! It's not even worth the half star rating shown here!
