From the age of 5 Michael Jackson was a worldwide superstar, during his 45 year career he sold more albums than any other solo artist and revolutionised the music industry. He rose to the heights of fame and courted public controversy in spectacular fashion.

Despite his massive popularity Jackson's private life remained largely a mystery. A reclusive lifestyle and eccentric behaviour produced a man of myth making it difficult to separate the truth from the fiction.

This programme offers a unique look at Michael Jackson from his family roots, through his astounding career and to the remarkable effect he had on the world. With rare and original archive footage, featuring interviews with close friends and family, as well as Michael himself.

Unfortunately very unprofessional

A Customer from London, 24th January, 2010

This DVD is just under an hour of footage from different stages of Michael Jackson's life. In addition to absence of Michael's music (which is common in many documentaries about him), it looks more like a one man show. The narrator who seems to be the director and writer of the documentary, reads some written words throughout the film and at some points refers to inaccurate rumours as facts. There are some nice footages of Michael and his family, but comparing to other documentaries I have seen on television it is very basic and unprofessional. I am not annoyed that I rented this film, as it was still about Michael. Of course if you want to watch something to enjoy I recommend Michael Jackson's Dangerous Tour or his Moonwalker video. That's where you'll see real Michael.
