a real blood thirsty chiller thriller........

williamsgwynfa from , 4th November, 2009

this is a really blood thirsty chiller thriller, that will have you o the edge of your seat. Summer (played by TWILIGHT's Ashley Greene) is a rebellious young teen who is eager to find her estranged father. She sets out on a cross-country journey but soon has a slight run-in with the law. Much to her amazement, a local handyman rescues her. It’s an unusual connection, but she is quickly charmed and accepts his invitation to spend the night at his home. However the following morning she is in for a very rude awakening when he decides to change the rules of attraction by trapping her in his house. Taken prisoner in the demented stranger's basement, her dream has come to a bitter end and her real-life nightmare has only just begun, as she realises her search has unearthed some shocking twists and proves some family roots are best left unexplored especially when her father's side of the family seems to consist solely of sociopaths. very scary !!!!!

Quite rewarding ending. 5/10.

Graham from UK, 3rd December, 2009

Summer’s Moon is a film of two halves, what at first appears to be a poorly acted and at times boring film with perverse undertones ends up being a quite gritty and entertaining thriller with an impressively unexpected ending. The story begins with a rebellious teen (Summer, played by Ashley Greene) escaping arrest with the help of young man whose interest in Summer is not all she thought it was. The initial 30 -45 minutes are quite average as you will no doubt feel the acting is poor and wonder if anything is actually going to happen, however we stuck with it and as an interesting if fairly predictable twist unfolded and some gory moments arrived we were pleased we did. The pace, the acting and the tension all improve in the second half leading to a quite rewarding ending neither of us expected. Average acting, fairly low budget but in the end delivers some scares and some tension, some of the story is twisted so be prepared to feel uncomfortable! 5/10. 3 Stars.

Painful, AVOID!!!

A Customer from Paignton, 29th November, 2009

I love horrors, I love thrillers so I sat down to watch this hoping for a good film, a great bit of escapism but this was dire, I mean the story was awful, the acting wasn't much better, it felt like a low budget film. I just really can't believe I watched it until the end to be honest as it was so bad, please if you like good horrors do not waste your time with this, trust me you will be wishing you hadn't wasted one of your rentals if you do. I like my horrors scary, gory I guess, I am quite immune to some normal chills maybe as I have watched so many gory ones that I have kind of got used to them, thats bad really!! but trust me while this is a bit freaky, its not in a good way.

Not bad...

RussoHeidi from , 21st February, 2010

Watched this film (obviously hence my review, still astounds me how others on here write reviews on films they have yet to see...) and it's not all that bad. It's not something I would buy but whilst watching it I didn't clock watch or shout abuse at the characters choices (always a good sign!) It's about a tough teen on the lookout for her Dad... She enters a small town and has a chance meeting with a good looking young chap, only for things to take a turn for the worse when he decides she is not going to leave his house but become part of his garden! The two things I like about this film best are the fact that it doesn't follow through on your initial impression of how this film will develop and most of all for once the lead character does actually act smarter than your average victim!
