Two years after the events depicted in DISTRICT 13 and once again set in the eponymous, lawless zone, DISTRICT 13 - ULTIMATUM finds those living within the walled, feral inner cities facing an even more terrifying existence than before. The walls have since become higher and the contained streets now under the rule of sinister and very influential gangs. The land itself has become divided into five ethnic neighbourhoods, each controlled by a boss thriving on the business of illegal trade. In a bid to control the turf and keep the inhabitants in order, the secret service once again dispatches Damien and Leito. But can just two men save the district from the chaos and destructions that now reigns?

Variety

Fun and frenetic sequel... With enough [references] to the 2005 French riots to be considered, if not political, at least timely, the [picture] skillfully blends combat with social messaging, in an explosive blend that should satisfy fans in Gaul and beyond

Alistair from North Yorkshire, 22nd December, 2009

This is a french film and the subtitles are awful, if you choose the english version and then english subtitles the words dont match up and its the worst dubbed film Ive ever seen

Unlucky for most

A Customer from Worcester, 26th February, 2010

We did not realise this was a french film with english dubbing. The film itself is mediocher and is at the bottom end of it's genre. The dubbibg is dire. Absolutley appaling. There is no dialect or accent and so chinese, eastern european, french etc all get the same - it just makes a b movie into a c- movie. It may be marginly better in the french sound track for our french viewers but the best course to take is : dont rent. A terrible mistake

Tries to be better, but....isn't

A Customer from London, 6th February, 2010

Looks to me like the director was determined to do the classis 'bigger, faster, better', yet somehow missed the point, and created something that was less than the sum of it's parts. Not a bad film, just nothing like as good as the original

Watchable rubbish

A Customer from Winchester, 21st January, 2010

This had more cheesy moments than a chunk of Camembert. It probably didn't help that I chose English voice dubbing instead of subtitles. It was littered with unbelievable escapes and cliche hero moments. Still, it was watchable and packed full of action stunts.
