Prolific director Bryan Singer takes a turn towards horror as the producer of this Halloween shocker directed by X2 and SUPERMAN RETURNS screenwriter Mike Dougherty. With four interwoven tales concerning a high-school principal who moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a college-age virgin who's saving herself for that special someone, a woman whose hatred of Halloween is only exceeded by her husband's love of the mischievous holiday, and a callous group of teens who carry out an unforgivably cruel prank, this fall frightener mixes Tarantino-style storytelling with the kind of chills that can only occur on the darkest day of the year. Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, and Leslie Bibb all star in a Halloween treat that's sure to deliver a few nasty tricks.

Fangoria

TRICK 'R TREAT is a solid reminder that mainstream horror need not be utter crap. By putting the emphasis on giving the audience a good time, Dougherty reminds that the old-fashioned spookhouse approach can still provide simple fun and thrills the old-fashioned way

Better than most horrors!

Grimbo from , 28th September, 2009

This is a under-rated little horror gem if ever I saw one. A Halloween set horror taking in a few short stories brought together by characters on the same street. It reminded me of Creepshow a little bit, which is a good thing. The cast is good and has Anna Paquin and Brian Cox to lead the way! This went straight to DVD and when horror films like Sorority Row, My Bloody Valentine and Hatchet get cinema releases you have to wonder who picks these things. This movie should become a Halloween tradition like the classic John Carpenter movie and Simpsons specials!!

Very Disappointing

A Customer from St. Albans, 5th November, 2009

Was really let down with this one, I had such high hopes based on other peoples reviews on various websites. Watched it end of October in time for Halloween too but unfortunately it was a real disappointment. Most of it didn't make much sense, a few stories did link up, but you are left with too many questions after. One of the stories had only kids in it which felt too much like a kiddy film for my liking. A few good effects and had plenty of potential to be a really good film but as a true horror/thriller fan I was left disappointed.

What a waste of time!

buzz2therescue from from Loughborough, 6th January, 2010

Well I thought this was one of the worst films I have ever seen. The effects were terrbile, the story was rubbish, good thing it was a very short film. I found it funny in most places not scary it was stupid and should be avoided. I like good horrors or suspenses not just chilish rubbish like this. You will waste your time with this.

Not so good

zoe1979 from , 10th March, 2010

I personally though this film was boring and long, The 4 storeys can get a little confusing and dont really all tie together at the end. I think they were trying to do the whole Jason theme but didnt do it very well. Dont think this film would scare my 5 year old.
