In the blink of an eye, Drachev's deadly past comes crashing back, and his once-safe family is now at the mercy of a viciously transgressive force. However, as his criminal ex-cohorts will soon be reminded, Seagal's Ruslan Drachev is the most formidable antihero of the iconic aikido master’s bone-crunching oeuvre since the days of MARKED FOR DEATH and OUT FOR JUSTICE. Seagal is truly back in action and driven to kill.

Better than most of his recent stuff..

A Customer from Birmingham, 14th June, 2009

I wouldn't say that this is exactly a return to form for Seagal, but it is quite entertaining for 90 minutes or so. Seagal plays the role of a retired Russian mobster who now writes books, but has to revive his old skills when his ex-wife is killed and his daughter injured, in a convoluted plot by his old mobster colleagues to bring him out of retirement so they can kill him. The first thirty minutes or so are a bit slow, but there is plenty of gory action later on, although the camera angles would suggest that a stand-in is used for many of Seagal's fights. However, at least the role Seagal plays suggests that he realises that he is getting on and can't be the dynamic action hero of old.

What a load of rubbish!

PrescottLandy from , 5th February, 2010

I have always liked Steven Segal movies, but this one is absolute rubbish. The plot is boring, only punctuated by excessive fight scenes using, obviously a double. There was none of the Original Segal moves more like Fight Club. The worst film that I have seen in a long time.

Disappointing

A Customer from Aldershot, 30th July, 2009

With Segal you know what you are getting and this does not disappoint in that respect. However, it is slow all the way through and some of the support acting is nothing short of weak. If you like Segal then worth watching, but do not stay up late to do so!

watching paint dry is more entertaining

brettmhill from , 10th March, 2010

well thats 90 odd minutes i will never get back! this was undoubtably the worst movie i have watched in the last 2 years Steven Seagal gives the worst performance possible. the movie drags on for over 90 minutes and is about as pleaseant as pulling teeth plot is poor acting is poor leave this one on the shelf and watch paint dry instead as that would be more entertaining.

Dear, Oh Dear

Steve Hatton from Cornwall, UK, 28th February, 2010

The trouble here is that with Steven Segal in it ( and directing), you know what to expect. The script does its best to deliver, and to be honest, it comes closer than some of Segal's recent efforts. Trouble is the great man himself - as soon as you see the obviously dyed hair and realise that the trademark leather 'blaggers jacket' is just there to hide an ever increasing portly figure, you realise that he just cant cut the action side of things anymore. Shame. As i always used to scream at Muhammad Ali - 'For pity's sake give up, before you kill the legend.'
