A moment of random violence erupts in an ordinary Los Angeles diner. The survivors find that the meanings of their lives have changed. No matter how much their families and friends attempt to understand, these individuals must follow their own paths to recovery seeking to regain trust in a world that now seems chaotic. A story of tragedy and hope for our times, "Fragments" is a powerful ensemble drama that explores the notion that our lives are fleeting, like birds in flight, like winged creatures.

Nothing to it

A Customer from St Ives, 18th March, 2010

Very slow, dull and boring, kept waiting for something to happen. Had trouble trying to keep awake. No point to the film really. Wouldn't recommend.

Great Performances

A Customer from Bristol, 9th February, 2010

The title sums it up - there are fragments of a good film here. The cast is uniformly excellent, and the film is worth seeing just for their performances. However the motives of some of the characters are so internal it's difficult to figure out what some of them are. The story is never boring, but the canvas is too small and left this viewer with the feeling of the story being crammed in to a space too small for it.

Entertainment on a different level.

TheDonSansone from , 8th February, 2010

Contrary to some reviews in here for this film, I found the slower pace of the production right for the content and circumstances set in Fragments. Like the title of the movie suggests, The violence tears apart the relative normality of life each of us wrap ourselves up in like a safe blanket. Witnessing how each individual tries to make sense of things to pull their lives back together was for me, calm but addictive to watch. Most try and gloss over terrible things in life, YES 'truth' about ourselves clearly is hard to face, yet so empowering when its faced. Well done Rowan Woods for telling it like it is.
