Hmmm...

Really not sure what to make of this one. It's all very stylish and expertly made, the fight scenes in particular, though perhaps a little too knowingly violent, are brilliantly choreographed and slowed down so the kicks, punches and bone snaps are all horribly real. But the film as a whole just doesn't seem to fit right. All the heroes come across as whiny miserable things and I'm not entirely sure what the point of it all was. It was all done far too seriously and dragged out for far too long. Entertaining in a kind of not really sort of way, which makes about as much sense as the film itself really.

Awful

A Customer from Sunderland, 26th February, 2010

Far too long, no real story, never ending. Good graphics and cinematics in places, but not worth watching.

The Watchman

A Customer from Stamford, Lincs, 12th February, 2010

Very dark and atmospheric. Liked the unusual film style - very akin to that of The Extraordinary League of Gentleman. Hadnt seen any of the comics etc on which this was based, but, got the gist of the subject and the backgorund quite easy. Felt that at over 2 hrs it was a little a long though.

dont-watchmen

this film went nowhere. It was long winded and had no story of any relevance to anything. Granted there were some good special effects but not good enough! Won't be watching it again.

When i watched this film in the cinema I found it pretty boring, but watching it on blu-ray I liked it much more. With the cinema release the hype surrounding the film had convinced me this was going to be a fantastic film. A friend who had read the graphic novel was very excited ordered me to buy the graphic novel and read as much as I could before I saw the film. I did this, enjoyed it this added to my excitement. When I did watch the film I was so disapointed, where was the action, beating up the bad guys etc, this is a superhero movie right? When it came out on blu-ray I decided to give it another go, I really wanted to like this film and it worked. I watched it in two sessions and had the graphic novel beside me to compare scenes in the book and film, this added to my experience and made it so much more enjoyable. Watching it in two session helped as well because it is a long film, 3 and a bit hours. If you are not sure about this film try it, but keep your expectation realistic. It is more of a big budget fanboy film than a mainstream film.
