Peter Klaven is a successful real estate agent, who, upon getting engaged to the woman of his dreams, Zooey, discovers to his dismay that he has no male friend close enough to serve as his best man. Peter immediately embarks on a series of bizarre and awkward 'man-dates' to find such a friend, before meeting Sydney Fife, a fun-loving, charismatic man - just Peter's oppposite - with whom he instantly bonds. But the closer the two men get, the more Peter's relationship with Zooey suffers, ultimately forcing him to choose between his fiancee and his new found 'bro', in a story that comically explores what's at the core of male friendship and what it truly means to be a friend.

Chicago Sun

Above all, just plain funny. It's funny with some dumb physical humor, yes, and some gross-out jokes apparently necessary to all buddy movies, but also funny in observations, dialogue, physical behavior and Sydney Fife's observations as a people-watcher

A little disappointing

A Customer from England, 25th February, 2010

I think the trailer gave you all the funny parts in the movie. Not as funny as I'd hoped and I'm so very glad that I didn't pay good money to see it at the Cinema.

Terrible

A Customer from Reading, England, 26th January, 2010

This has got to be one of the worst films I have ever seen! I couldn't watch it to the end which is really unlike me. It was sooo boring, the storyline was just pathetic and I found myself questioning why I was putting myself through the misery of watching something so dull, so I switched it off. The funniest part of the film is the part that is on the trailer which was what tempted me to rent it, but there's really nothing else inspiring. It was totally unbelievable, which I don't mind if it's funny but it isn't.

World's First Brom-Com?

TimeZebra from from Leicester, 24th January, 2010

The plot is reminiscent of any decent rom-com, with the Sandra Bullock role being played by Jason Segel. There are some gags, some drama, and there's a mad dash near the end. But aside from that, this film feels fresh and original. Rudd and Segel play off each other brilliantly, the script is sharp and very funny, despite feeling ever so slightly 'American Pie-esque' at times. The characters are interesting and engaging, not to metion unusual, and the music is excellent throughout. More touching than Role Models and funnier than Forgetting Sarah Marshall this is truly great comedy film. However, let's be clear - you are not going to remember this film in twenty, ten or possibly even two years, but watching it is a great way to spend an evening, although maybe not with your nan. -TZ
