Good film with more meaning than your average romantic comedy. Take the tissues!

Good but not what I was expecting.

CezzBB from , 12th February, 2010

I and the other half were really looking forward to this film and we really enjoyed it when it came but not as much as we expected. Don't get me wrong the film is good we had just heard better things of it and expected it to be great. Into Chick Flicks? Then it is worth a rent.

poor script

A Customer from Aberdeen, 20th March, 2010

I thought this was a very poor film with a weak plot, which the actors struggled to make believable. Aniston did her best with a low rate character role but I thought Eckhart had the impossible task in trying to make his character plausible. I found the script cringe worthy at times and by the end I was reaching for the sick bag. All the cast should have given this script a body swerve and done themselves a favour.

A Quietly decent Film

MonkeyMayhem from , 17th March, 2010

I wasn't particularly interested in seeing the film, but my wife had expressed an interest when she saw it advertised at the cinema. Anyway, not expecting much i was left feeling quite happy that i'd seen it. There are some genuinely funny and quite touching moments throughout the movie. And dealing with the subject matter it does - does it tentatively and with compassion. Overall, while the dialogue and storyline are perhaps nothing we haven't seen before. Aaron Eckharts performance as the troubled widower dealing with some dark feelings of remorse and regret he does so with both sincerity and genuine compassion. I feel he is a very underated actor, never afraid of tackling some very difficult issues. Whilst on the lighter side here, he produces no less of a strong performance than any of his other films. Well supported by Jennifer Aniston in a not disimilar role we are used to seeing her in. While it doesn't set off any fireworks it does raise itself that little bit above your average boy meets girl romance despite all of its dated cliches. I for one was quite happy i'd seen it.

terrible terrible terrible

A Customer from sheffield, 13th March, 2010

the worst film I have seen in a while. as for chick flick this was more depressing than anything else. despite the deep morals and ideas behind this film, it was done awfully and not once captured any feelings from me at all. Just wanted it to end as quickly as possible!
