Stuart Gordon creates a provocative, over-the-top experience in "Stuck," a tabloid-tinged thriller inspired by true events. Brandi is a compassionate young retirement-home caregiver in-line for a promotion. Tom is a victim of the downsized economy, out of work and newly homeless. Their worlds collide when Brandi, driving home from a club after too many drinks and pills, accidentally hits Tom, the impact smashing his body head-first through her car's windshield. If discovered, this "accident" will extinguish her bright future, so instead of saving him, her plan is to let him pass and dispose of the body later. Faced with this reality, Tom knows he must escape if he wants to survive.

Los Angeles Times

Appropriately dingy in style and verve, Gordon has fun ratcheting up the death chamber stakes with squishy sound effects, nick-of-time tension and violent turns in luck, but the performances are what elevate it

Pitch Black

Kevin Lloyd from London, 28th August, 2009

Its based on a true story, so to that extent this is beyond satire, but in terms of the degree to which someone in not so great circumstances is so desperate not to lose what they have that they can visit untold horror on someone in much worse circumstances is a commentary (mercifully one hopes an extreme one) on a society in which those with some stake will do literally almost anything to hold onto it and see only themselves as being at risk. The commupance is delicious.

Quite enjoyed this one. Havent seen any publicity about this one at all, only heard of it on a trailer when at the cinema about a year ago. Its a true story (although how much has to be debatable as its pretty ludicrous at times) which always makes things more watchable. Would reccom.
