Flavour of the Month gets DVD release
A Customer from Walsall,
9th April, 2009
Well, it seems like BBC Films have finally realised that they have a hot property in the name of Robert Pattinson in their reportoire and have therefore released The Haunted Airman, a film which originally aired on BBC four, onto DVD. Shameless cash-in? You betcha. But truth be told, this film is rather good. I say 'film' but it has the production values of a well-made BBC drama, which is no bad thing of course. It tells an intriguing tale of an injured pilot, played by Robert Pattinson, recovering from his mental and physical injuries sustained in WWII. Paranoia, nightmares, horrifying flashbacks torment the character and he finds himself not knowing who or what to trust. You haven't already seen the film and are a fan of Robert, I highly recommend this film. Hell, you don't even need to be a fan because his performance will win you over. He was totally believable as the tortured pilot who is slowly driven mad by his circumstances. I was actually surprised by his acting skill, which he is rather amusingly, self-deprecating about. There are also great performances by Rachael Stirling and Julian Sands. Worth watching if you like spooky stories or Robert Pattinson.
