cracker,,

rentonsewell from from YORK, 21st July, 2008

I think this was the best one i have seen i never saw this series when it came out ( i know ,,, sad !) i was studying ,, anyway ,, i am watching them all now,, Mc Govern is superior to Abbott as he doesnt wallow in human misery he uses the Greek Hubris ,, divine retribution,, and real outcomes,, the parents who had just moved ,, the son needing hospital treatment which brings the estranged couple back briefly,, ( in the Street too,, jane Horrick's daughter is run over by the guy she is screwing) ,, I respect Mc Govern ( except his football priorities but if i can forgive John Peel i can forgive him too),, this is stunning stuff,, i particularly love the scene of Fritz with his Mum ,, played by Beryrl Reed,, the gambling roots go back to the intimacy ( or efforts at intimacy) fantastic congruence !! and Andrew in the lead,, i saw him in SAFE,, a great performance,, and a truly great piece of BRITISH drama making ,, best in the world we are at this stuff !!
