Is this the same franchise?

This was awful, god know what Hollywood has done to this story. After the original and a not too dissapointing sequel, this franchise had the potential to become seriously scary. Instead we are now treated to a revised story and sequence after sequence of chases from the ghosts. The Make-up seems less convincing too and no remorse was felt for the main characters involved. Another weak attempt was made in the story 'add-ons' with the creation of a new ghost too - I only hope a 4th film never happens. The one thing which was quite interesting was the 'possession' of some characters. This was truly appalling and any fan of horror would not even rent this out!
