LAID TO REST

nixNvix from , 16th May, 2009

shocking from the word go, the main character is an absolute retard who you want to see die a very painful death to at least get some of your moneys worth. we were well exited about watching this film as we thought it sounded like a different horror film to many of the others out there (we thought the storyline sounded exiting and well thought up) but it turned out to be an utter shambles and mess of a film, we spent 99% of the time yelling at the screen as we were sure something good would happen somewhere in it but it just didnt, there were absolutely no jumpy bits that can make a horror film really scary, the acting and overall cast were diabolical. bottom line: we wish we were the ones laid to rest by the end of it

Laid to Rest

I thought that this film was great. I had read reviews about it after it was despatched to me so was not even sure about giving it a chance, but so glad I did. I watch a lot of horrors and this one certainly did not disappoint me.

Good Movie!

Jordan from , 18th February, 2010

This was actually a good movie! I gave this movie a try after watching the trailer, despite not having high expectations and was actually surprised in the end. It's not among the best of horrors out there, but it is good enough to watch. Some scary moments with an average quantity of gore throughout.

And the plot was?.............

desmondsdoll from , 14th February, 2010

..........................oh look! There goes a batch of tumbleweeds in answer to my question! This was AWFUL - it started off as though it was going to be like Captivity and had an girl with amnesia waking up in a casket in a funeral home -seemed good until she began 'acting' and what was with the talking like a 3 year old? I'm guessing it was to display her amnesia but it just made her character even more pathetic. Nothing personal against the actress as I don't see wha else she could have done, after all she was only doing her job. I had a glimmer of hope for a plot when the 2 main characters got to another character's house (I'm sorry but I couldn't be bothered remembering character's names as I was too busy trying to grasp at straws that could even indicate a plotline!) when Mr Sexy Eyes (who'd rescued Miss Amnesia) went on the internet with the new poor suck that had been embroiled into the mess through associating with them, and discovered that the serial killer was believed to 'be a doctor or a surgeon' - but then the whole thing fell flat again and didn't pick up - it seemed to be one LONG thing of them driving round in a big circle of the victim's homes and the funeral home where the killer tormented the newest sucker with the corpse of his mother who is due to be buried the next day (interestingly, the corpse bled - I've done nursing and trust me, corpses don't bleed after a certain amount of time, particularly if they've been autopsied, like Ma Corpse had been!) and then after what seems like hours of driving in circles, going into the same houses and funeral home and really gory killings with a hunting knife and some crap waxwork dummy exhibition in the grounds of the funeral home towards the end (thise of you who have suffered this movie, will know what I mean), they end up in a store where some other poor peeps become victims all thanks to Miss Amnesia running out on the people who had tried to help and save her, and a big fight ensues, I sat watching, hoping to see the killer's face or get some explanation to the silver mask he regularly glues onto his face and to discover WHY he's become a sadistic killer, but no - all that happens is his mask is knocked off so that he glues it back on with the adhesive that's been tampered with so it burns his face off and them Miss Amnesia crushes what's left of his face with a baseball bat and hugs Mr Sexy Eyes who was fatally injured in the fight (and bizarrely 'sees' his wife cuddling him, when really it's Miss Amnesia - yet again we don't know why, and then Miss Amnesia persuades the sole survivor (a young lad who'd been in the store) to not wait for police and drive off, leaving us wondering if she had anything to do with the killings, and was in fact not an intended victim after all - to be honest, I didn't care by that point and had only continued to watch as I don't believe you can write a review without bothering to watch a movie all the way through

Pleasantly surprised

Lucias from , 30th January, 2010

Rented this movie for my regular girlie nigth in with a horror flick that I have with my mates on a Friday night. As the films we watch ususally get talked over the quality of storyline and effects are not of the greatest importance. However, we really emjoyed this little unknown movie, plot a bit sketchy but great special effects and too see the guy who plaid the child from 'people under the stairs' as the character who's mum had just died was fab. Predicatable, yes but oh so enjoyable!
