Time Out

This is why 3D was invented: an eye-popping re-make of the 1981 ‘slasher’ movie that blends old-school ‘body...

This movie was awesome, what did u guys see??

Filmfreaksam from , 5th February, 2009

Firstly what are you all talking about??This movie was the best film iv seen in a long while. The 3D affects were so cool with the pick axe and blood flying at you!! As for the acting, the casting couldnt have been better. I thought everyone was fantastic!!Jensen Ackles played the role very very well and is such a hottie. Well worth the humiliation of wearing the dodgy glasses!! Theres also lots of gore which my other half loved. Theres a real who dunnit at the end too and you'll question yourself who is the masked freak over and over throughout the film...See it for yourself, you wont be disapointed...

One of the worst horror film I have ever seen

Rokeyblokey from , 15th February, 2009

Man this was bad. I don't really understand how anyone could give this film a positive review. Surely a horror film should be the ideal genre to utilise 3D. Based on this maybe not. A few key issues. 1) It really isn't scary. You are shown what it about to happen then it happens! Example. Shot of a pick axe, shot of an eye, oh, theres the pick axe again. Oh and an eye. Oh, the pick axe meets the eye. Well, I didn't see that coming! 2) I got the impression it had been 'written for 3D' ie, the 3D was the gimmick. No attempt was made at anything more than this 3) I didn't care about any of the characters. To be honest, they could have all been killed. I wouldn't have cared 4) There are just way too many plot holes to ignore. 5) Ok, some of the 3D is good. But the gore has been done much better by other films. There was no imagination. 6) I saw this in the cinema, in 3D. On DVD it will be truly, truly awful Just avoid, at all costs

repetative

LuckyLegs from from Stockton-on-Tees, 26th January, 2009

Worth a watch for the 3d effects, but without that you are left with a well below average horror flick. I found that some of the 3d effects were very repetative and to be honest I did start to get fed up of having the pick axe 'in my face'. Acting was generally poor and although some scenes were amusing, i dont feel that the movie lived up to the hype.

What was that?

I'm sorry but this film was a waste of time. recycled storylines, strange acting and that guy from dawsons creek is still playing teenage roles. 120 minutes of my life that i will never get back.

Oh dear

stace55254 from , 16th March, 2010

what has Jensen done, not a big fan of horror/gore movies, usually because they are not scary and usually have the same old plot, this one seems no different, eventually ended up fast forwarding it just to get to the end.

A bloody good film

Matt19 from , 13th March, 2010

If you have ever watched Supernatural starring Jensen Ackles and dont know what he will be like in an actual horror film, he is no different, He still plays the cocky, ladies man the only difference is that ofcourse he has to act scared which is also interesting to see, The stories good the actings good but the ending is kind of an easy one, but a very good film in all.

Contains nothing new...

... and this is extremely predictable, I haven't seen the original and even to compare the two I don't fancy doing so. Jensen needs to be careful he doesn't end up in a career full of second rate horror/slasher films. For the girls- don't bother watching this just for Jensen Ackles, just watch Supernatural. Not bad but it's not good either, it wouldn't make a bad film to watch on Halloween.
