Outstanding

These days when you come across a film by Clint Eastwood you have to stop and pay attention - back in the day Clint was definitely the action man of his generation where many dads would worship the guy - nowadays he has become an incredible director - his last few films have been outstanding (Million Dollar Bay, Mystic River, Flags of our Fathers, Letters from Iwo Jimo) - there's no denying this guy definitely knows what he is doing and again he has done no wrong here with Changeling. Yes it's a different type of film we are used to seeing Clint creating but that doesn't make it any less worthy. The story is about a mother's determination of finding her son and what is uncovered is truly gripping including Police Corruption. The film has been awarded with many BAFTA Nominations and rightfully so - especially for Best Actress for Angelina Jolie who is a fantastic character actress as well as an action star. Angelina is outstanding and holds this film well especially when she is in 90% of the film - she definitely takes you on an emotional journey from start to finish and she oozes the 40s look - if this film was out any other year she would snap up the Oscar but the fact she is up against Kate Winslet in The Reader and Meryl Streep for Doubt - a second oscar this year seems unlikely. The supporting cast do well in the movie - with a special mention to Amy Ryan - who again gives an admirable performance as a mental patient falsely locked up. The problem I have with the film is John Malkovich - although he is an outstanding actor and I do love many of his films - I just didn't understand his role here but nevertheless it didn't affect my view Over 2 hours long this film is definately one to watch.

What a film!!!

PKTV from , 25th February, 2010

I'd heard good things about this film but never really made a point of watching it. BIG MISTAKE. This is a sensational film and one of the most emotional I have seen for a long time. Gut wrenching and even a little hard to watch in some places this is an absolute gem with a stunning central performance from Ang. Add it to your list, NOW!

Good Watching

As a mother myself found this heart breaking. Is really laid out well and you become quite involved with the Jolie character. A good one for a nice evening in with a glass of wine. Drags on a little towards the end, but outcome worth it.
