Fangtastic!

WineGirl from , 9th August, 2009

From Alan Ball who also did Six Feet Under and Dexter and being a fan of Twilight i just could not wait to watch this show. Though unlike Twilight this series is strictly for adults with all the sex, blood and violence that proves to be better than having to endure annoying kids and vampires that glitter.

The acting is faultless like the intertwining plots that branch from the main story, which introduces you to fantastic characters like the sharp-tongued Tara and Sookie’s dim, womanising brother, Jason.

Anna Paquin is delightful as the naive, telepathic Sookie Stackhouse and British actor, Stephen Moyer is deliciously seductive as the sexy vampire, Bill Compton.

Despite living in England i have watched the first and am currently viewing the second season that is on HBO in the states, that is how addicted i've become!

superb........................

williamsgwynfa from , 5th July, 2009

this is a superb series starring Anna Paquin (who won an oscar for her role in The Piano). The series revolves around Sookie Stackhouse (played by Anna Paquin), who is a telepathic waitress living in the rural town of Bon Temps in Louisiana two years after the invention of a synthetic blood called TruBlood that has allowed vampires to 'come out of the coffin' and allow their presence to be known to mankind. Now they are struggling for equal rights and assimilation, while anti-vampire organizations begin to gain momentum. Sookie's world is turned upside down when she falls in love with 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer) and for the first time she must confront the trials and tribulations that come with a relationship with a vampire. Other characters in this series are - Tara Thornton (played by Rutina Wesley) who is Sookie's tough-talking best friend, her womanizing brother Jason (played by Ryan Kwanten) and her shape-shifting boss Sam Merlotte (played by Sam Trammell). Well worth watching !

Bit of a Twilight Copy

Garybuk from , 13th November, 2009

Pretty good start to the series and hoping it keeps my interest for the upcoming discs. There are some pretty crude sex scenes early on, which put wife off a bit. Several ideas seem to be taken from Twilight, but still good for those that love Vampire stories.
