An all-star cast, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and John Malkovich, come together in this outrageous spy comedy about murder, blackmail, sex addiction and physical fitness!

When a disc filled with some of the CIA's most irrelevant secrets gets in the hands of two determined, but dim-witted, gym employees, the duo are intent on exploiting their find. But since blackmail is a trade better left for the experts, events soon spiral out of everyone's and anyone's control, resulting in a non-stop series of hilarious encounters! From Joel and Ethan Coen, the Academy Award winning directors of No Country For Old Men and The Big Lebowski, comes this brilliantly clever and endlessly entertaining movie that critics are calling smart, funny, and original.

Time Out, London

Indie-crossover darlings the Coen brothers have concocted another of their Hawkesian screwball quickies in which an ensemble of beautiful A-listers merrily play the fool. Already a hit in the US, ‘Burn After Reading’ is a snappy, confident, lightly satirical and stridently mischievous entertainment

brad's finest hour!!

gottaluvgreatmovies from , 11th February, 2009

i'd read a lot of bad reviews & wasn't sure what to expect, brad pitt's performance in the trailer made it a must see for me,and in a film full of flawless actors he steals the show!! he's so different from past roles,i think the poor reviews come from it being labelled a comedy, anybody expecting just a comedy will be disappointed,it's very black&all the better for it!!there's a genuinely shocking moment that you won't forget in a hurry,at least i wont!! it isn't as good as fargo, but it's similar, which if your a fan of fargo isn't a bad thing! my only criticism is i thought it should have been a bit longer, also i turned my blu ray player off half way through&put it back on only to find the movie starting from the beginning!!?i've never seen this happen on blu ray,it used to happen on every hd dvd disc, other than it is in my opinion a must see movie.

Watch & Enjoy a funny yet odd Film

Jackandy from , 16th February, 2009

I had been expecting this film to be full of celebrities over acting and have no story. Yet I was so pleased that I so it and even with the story being more odd than straight forwards its great viewing. With the film having no real lead star it helps give the film more of a balance. And the story does expect the viewers to understand and keep up. As its story is told not only in what you see on the screen but what is being said from the characters acting too. It has a strong amount of bad language and it’s good to see all the A-list celebrities not being given more screen time than any of the others. The film just tells the story of a few people who come across each other. Add to this the CIA and you have at times a very funny film.

What's this film about?

pro69 from , 16th February, 2009

I don't really know what this film is suposed to be. Funny - rarely, grusome in parts and with a really weak storyline. Potential great cast but the Cohen brothers need to decide if they are doing a comedy or a thriller.

Brilliant

This is a stunner of a movie. Well casted and brilliantly played characters. A must see if you like movies like Fargo and Tarentino stuff. Absolutely hilarious if you are into this kind of movies.

Burn before viewing

Nijo from , 26th February, 2010

Ordered this one because I read somewhere it was funny - NOT!! The story line was dull and there were unecessarily gruesome pieces of violence in it. Weak plot, unconvincing acting. It didn't entertain me.
