When Leon Kaufman's latest body of work--a collection of provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants--earns the struggling photographer interest from prominent art gallerist Susan Hoff, she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space. Believing he's finally on track for success, Leon's obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer--Mahogany, the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters, ultimately butchering them in the most gruesome ways imaginable. With his concerned girlfriend Maya fearing for his life, Leon's relentless fascination with Mahogany lures him further and further into the bowels of the subways and ultimately into an abyss of pure evil--inadvertently pulling Maya right along with him.

A Very Shocking Horror Movie.

filmsaremypassion from , 9th March, 2009

With a trailer that scared me witless and a plot that sounds disturbing, I rented this film out and saw it last night. It's about a young promising photographer been told by a respected woman to shoot better pictures than the ones he has been doing. So one night, he encounters a frightening man that is a serial killer that stays on the late train and waits only for the few so he can strike. He grows a massive obession of this dangerous man, taking very risky moves and putting his and his girlfriend's life on the line. It's very shocking, the gore is extremly strong that my mum and sister had to look away a lot longer than usual. Though it really scared me and gave me nightmares, there was some problems about it. What's with the manic animals? Why did it end so brutally and not a very happy one? I like my horror movies with a nice ending so I can just turn it off in my head but it played and played with unanswered questions and the images of Vinnie Jones being a serial killer haunts me. So in all, I'm surpised it got away but lately most sick horrors get away with a 15 as it didn't matter. It's a good film with a few faults and the Blu-Ray didn't give out the best picture or sound, only recommended if you like sick gory movies with a nasty twist.

'' A very gory horror movie that had a suitable part for Vinny Jones as the psycho which was only let down by passable cgi effects ''

low expectations?

midniter from , 30th January, 2010

Ah, it's all in the title!, but a rather cleverly worked out film that explains itself with no loose ends - believable? NO, Guessable? NOT ALL OF IT, makes you wonder how they film some of it? YES. If you watch SAW fine - if you don't then don't waste your time or 1 * ratings. Much better than expected and better than alot of the action-movie 2/3 * here.

Quite good Chiller

bustings from from England, 21st January, 2010

Lunk head Vinnie Jones has a virtual non speaking part in this Gory thriller. The main character a photographer follows a suspiciuos Charactor (jones) around whilst trying to 'capture the true city' in black and white photography. A little predictable, the photographer is the hero, a pretty skinny girl is his suffering love interest, Jones is the Butcher/mass murderer that somehow walks away from all of his bloody killings without a spot of blood on him. Apart from the lack of story, its plods along well. At times the Gory killings turned my stomach and i thought i was pretty insensatised. Worth watching if yer like gore.
