It's what the trench should have been..

A Customer from shropshire,U.K, 24th February, 2004

It's not bad, if you hired the trench hire this one as it is probably what you exspected the trench to be. I reckon it's good not amazing but a worth wihile brit flick definately one of the better ones. At the end of the day you won't be disapionted. Look out for the flash backs as they are the key to whats going on.

Quality Low Budget Effort

David Stone-Haigh from Salford, Lancs, 24th September, 2004

Moody, well written and steadily plotted to provide maximum shivers. Couple this with the old school ghost story scares/subplot and the sprinkling of 'post modern' horror trends and you have a heady mix for a good horror film. The acting is servicable all round (despite the fact that the German soldiers all speak like they come from various parts of Blighty)and the idea of crossing genres, (horror/war) though not new, (see the FAR superior The Keep) is good news. No gormless teens getting the chop by some twit in a silly mask here folks! As for that ending...you'll just have to rent it and see!

Dull dull dull...

simhort from west midlands, 28th January, 2004

What more can I say? A dull script, dull direction, a dull film. That's it! Hugely disappointing and unengaging. Avoid.

A great start with action, suspense and signs of a great horror. Then, for me, it lost the plot the scares didn't scare me and it became ridiculous. Not impressed. A 'B film' that you'll spot one late night on C4. I liked the DVD extras though!

This was such a slow film, I was still waiting for it to begin when it ended !! Not too sure what it was about, but if you are expecting a chilling horror film - you will be very dissapointed. Totally crap

Disappointing

A Customer from OXON, 22nd January, 2008

I thought I'd already rented this when I saw a trailer for it on the TV then realised I hadn't. I missed it on the TV so rented it anyway. I was quite disappointed with it. The fact that I still can't say for certain whether or not I've seen it before suggests that it's instantly forgettable too. It's an OK film for a lazy day, but not one for an 'I want to be entertained' day.

Strong beginnings ... Quickly unravels.

David Gracey from London, England, 4th September, 2007

Oh, dear. A bit of a mess. Engaging premise and quite atmospheric but let down by so-so plotting and characterisation. Acting is solid, but not enough to redeem this disappointment of a movie. Michael Mann's 'The Keep' is an extremely viable alternative to this piece of mediocrity.
