Gets steadily more hilarious as it goes on

Consider me taken in somewhat by the term 'Patrick Swayze gives a career defining performance', attached the the unfortunate legend of the Dirty Dancing star's state of health. Add to that my love of good cop shows and I thought i'd give it a go. The pilot is fairly well done, beautifully shot with a blue wash in snow, plot holds up *fairly* well, a lad from The Wire shows up, the show holds a little promise. Even conditioning myself into a mindset that this was like a modern day version of classic pulp detectives and letting somewhat coincidental things happen and some rather cheesy dialog choices, I pressed on. Unfortunately. The show becomes steadily more hilarious, be it Swayze's character suddenly being completely fluent in Romanian, or the 'breathtaking' performance of sidekick Travis Fimmel, who for the most part veers between passable and a stoner trying to pass a conker. Surely the worst actor I've ever seen. By the end of the first disc it had become a bit of a guilty pleasure. In the same way as Sunset Beach was, mixed in with a dash of Scooby Doo. That said, I won't be watching any further in. It's terrible.
