stick with it!

although this film can be a bit slow in places it is well worth watching. the little twists keep you involved, i enjoyed this road movie type thriller with a bit of action and a bit of mystery thrown in. 4 stars from me.

Murder on the Orient Express it ain't

Peter from Norwich, UK, 22nd February, 2010

There's nothing cosy about this movie, which centres on a couple of Americans, who apparently don't speak the language of the country they've been working in, trying to figure out what all the nasty Russians are doing, while travelling westwards through Siberia in a fairly functional, not to say utilitarian, train. The representation of the American male abroad as an egocentric clod-hopper does nothing to enhance the reputation of Americans, who seem blithely unaware that their assumption that 'The American Way' is a 'one-size-fits-all' formula for World Peace which all countries should seek to emulate is not appreciated by most other cultures. Especially not the Russians. The story is fairly predictable and the characters fairly stereotypical. Watch it when the weather is so bad you have to stay indoors.
