American cutie Martha (Monica Potter) is bored with her life. Using what little money she has left, she buys a one-way ticket to London. But before she even leaves the States, Martha meets Daniel (Tom Hollander), a charming single man, and it's love at first sight--or so Daniel thinks. However, Martha later runs into Frank (Rufus Sewell) and Laurence (Joseph Fiennes), Daniel's two best friends, in London, and the three men begin a chaotic race to win her heart. Who will Martha choose

Radio Times

Not one but three hapless British chaps (Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes and Tom Hollander) fall for gorgeous American Monica Potter when she arrives in London hoping to start a new life. There's the odd rough patch, but the witty script uses coincidence as a springboard for plot, rather than something to avoid, and shows that a British movie can be both romantic and funny. Potter, despite appearing in some dreadful films (Patch Adams for one), proves to be an adept comedian, coming across as a younger, blonde version of Julia Roberts. At the cinema, the movie suffered from being released around the same time as the Gwyneth Paltrow hit Sliding Doors. Despite its dreadful title, this deserved better.

Two's Company. Three's a Crowd. Four's a Disaster

A Customer from not where i wanna be, 18th August, 2005

This was a great British film that deserves a good pat on the back. Not only did the film put together such a wonderfully presented cast that went together so realistically, so precise but it was a fantastic film with an original and laughable plot (which is better than seeing the same story over and over again).

Funny!

mikymax from West Sussex, 2nd February, 2005

A romantic comedy with no pretences. The film is enjoyable and the plot is interestingly structured. The atmosphere is sweet and romantic.

I think I can say it is enjoyable.

Martha - Meet Frank, Daniel And Laurence

You know when you get a movie purely because of one actor? How about two? Sewell and Feines are perfect in their roles. Being an American in London I only wish I had those men fighting over me. Very well written, terrifically played very much worth a screening. Oh, and quite funny, too.

Let the bunny out of the box!

adiw from Leicestershire, 26th March, 2005

Monnica Potter is as good as ever in this watchable rom com which tells the story of three British friends who all meet and become infactuated by the same American girl in one day. It's a stretch I know.

But if you allow the implausity of the plot to wash over you then you may find yourself rather enjoying the outcome. It's certainly not a great movie, the three male characters are somewhat unlikable anyway and it really isn't laugh out loud funny at any point of the movie but Monnica Potter brings a certain charm to proceedings and helps to create a more engaging movie then i was initially expecting.

I'm with Lucy is a far better Monnica Potter offering, but for me the girl peaked with Con Air... this little bunny deserves to be let out of the box a little more often.

not quite what I expected

A Customer from Lancashire, England, 8th October, 2005

This film was not quite what I expected. The story jumps around, a bit like the advert on the TV when you see past of a scenario, and then see the whole picture (the one with the lout-looking guy running at someone, and just as you think that they are about to mug the person, turns out they save them from an accident). This film is like that - goes first one way, then another as the story unfolds. This is a nice little film, which could have been better. I kept expecting it to be a lot more humourous then it was- because of the pedigree of the stars,- that ultimately, I felt a bit let down that there was so littleto laugh at.
