Released: May 25, 2009

In F*ck Steven Anderson takes an entertaining and provocative look at how everyone's favourite F-word has variously enriched or infected Western culture and how it is now a staple part of film, comedy, music and television. He knocks the theory that it stands for 'Fornication Under the Consent of the King' on the head, while a variety of talking heads, from Billy Connolly to Hunter S Thompson, offer their views. Add to the pot some smart interlinking animation from Bill Plympton and you have a fast and loose cult comedy that offers effective verbal relief.

Pritty Dull

dedecker1 from , 3rd July, 2009

this film relies on the fact that you are still shocked by this word. Sadly being British i find it impossible to make such a fuss over something so trivial. I found that after 20 mins of this film they were repeating themselves. I was really hoping for something original however this is not. just a list of American Celebs talking about something that is sadly (?) an everyday part of everyday life!

A little confused

steviedonx from from Edinburgh, 14th June, 2009

Not bad overall I suppose, some good interviews with hunter thompson and billy connolly and stuff, but overall lacks any kind of forward direction or central argument and comes over quite fuzzy and confused. Worth a look though for fans of etymology!

Why?

screen77 from , 29th November, 2009

So i wonder who thought it was a good idea to make a 90 min(aprox) documentary on the F word. While it is very mildly entertaining i was no wiser at the end,it does go into where the word may or may not have come from but no one really seemed to have a clue. Then it drifts into that old free speech stuff & the first ammendment by this time interest was fading fast. Not bad but i did not learn anything.

A C - not an F - for effort

RJNeb2 from , 24th November, 2009

A group of celebrities, political analysts and moral watchdogs all come together to discuss that most taboo of words, the F one. This is just a series of talking heads, interspersed with the odd bit of animation. Frankly, it could have a bit more structure - it's hard to ascertain what point it's trying to make - but if you're after a loaded attack on the Bush administration, then this is the effing way to go.
