Harmless Lesbian Vampire Fun

manonfireuk from , 26th March, 2009

This film is naff but that's the point, it's supposed to be naff! All the reviews that have slated it have gone a bit over the top, it's just harmless, brainless fun. Not a film you'll go back to over and over again but worth watching if you want a brainless night in with a few cans of beer!

Not funny and not clever so don't do it!

Bargepole from , 28th March, 2009

What a huge let down. After the fabulous Gavin & Stacey I was surprised to see Corden lower himself to the deathly (excuse the pun) depths of this trash. Must admit it wasn't a surprise to see Horne in it as he has previously pumped out the Catherine Tate fiasco but, Corden, I expect Ruth Jones will be buring her head in shame that she collaborated her writing genius with someone who has so shamelessly sold out. Follow the Gervais theory that (even though you do a fantastic impression of him in 'Horne and Corden') only do work you are proud of. I would be stunned if this film is not a regret in a few years time. Not a whiff of the b-movie horror piss taking I was expecting and Paul McGann...what the hell is he doing in this tripe? Oh dear. Obviously one for any adolescent boy wanting to see a tit-fest. I must admit that I assumed the title was ironic and would deliver a clever, witty and scathing script but, alas, it did exactly what it said on the tin. All lesbians, vampires and killing. The only thing missing in the title was 'tits' and 'crap script with no comedy value'. Blurgh...one to avoid.

Does exactly what it sayes on the tin!

justify from , 3rd August, 2009

I followed all the reviews that have been written about this film, but at the same time, on different occasions have found these two comedians great. I am going against the grain about this film and saying this is a fun film. Sure it pulls out every cliche in the book, and at times I could dare to predict what would happen, and found myself ginning when they actually took the film to these points, but thats all this film is trying to do, is just have a laugh. While watching this film I could imagine seeing how it was put together, maybe in a pub over a beer, with one saying why dont we have them killing vampires? and the other, yeh lesbian vampires kroor! followed by the other adding constant moaning about the fact of him meeting gourgeous women in the woods and his bad luck that he never gets a break with women, that when he does they turn into bloodsucking monsters. Its just fun to watch for the purile lads factor that these things never happen in real life, along with the opportunity to put every mad thing you ever wanted to do into a movie, in a way it takes the piss out of action movies, theres the token foreign chick who only sayes yah, which one falls in love with, because that all she sayes! Theres the smart chick with glasses, but of course wears a mini skirt and boots, nice! Why are people taking this film so seriously? I loved it great fun!!!!

The Worst film ever made!?

A Customer from London, 9th May, 2009

Oh Dear! I'd read all the reviews when this film came out (for 2 days) in the cinema and thought, 'surely it can't be as awful as everyone says' but it is indeed worse. Awful idea, badly directed, terrible script and just in no way at all. . . funny! James Corden is quite a talented actor but there are is no evidence of it in this film, at all. And as for Mathew Horne, he really is a one trick pony. He can't act to save his life and thinks pulling the same gormless expression ( see- Catherine Tate, Gavin and Stacey, the painful Horne and Corden....etc) will pass as acting/comic timing, what a waste of space he is. I read in one of the many scathing reviews that they were the new 'Hale and Pace'!? I wouldn't even give them that. Maybe time to give it up lads and let some genuinely funny people have a go.

Not that funny

nikkiheart73 from , 17th March, 2010

James Corden and Matthew Horne seemed just like Gavin and Smithy and there were not many laughs in the film. The storyline was okay and it is still watchable but not the greatest comedy I have ever seen.

Predictable but funny

Mattwho from , 15th March, 2010

This film does exactly what it says on the tin. A funny spoof of all those old hammer horror movies that once dominated Cinema. The plot is basic and predictable but thats kinda the point. Well worth a watch if you like that sorta humour

James Corden Is Brilliant !

colleentheonly1 from , 8th March, 2010

This film doesn't have the most amazing plot or script , but thats not the goal of the movie. James Corden is brilliant and provides laughs throughout the movie ! Combine this with lesbians and vampires and your on to a winner ! A great movie to watch.
