Based on the second novel in C.S. Lewis's beloved CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series, PRINCE CASPIAN finds the four Pevensie children--Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and Lucy (Georgie Henley)--once again whisked away from WWII-era England into the realm of Narnia, where the siblings once ruled as royalty. However, the Pevensies soon discover that 1,300 years have passed since they left, and the world is now controlled by the Telmarines, humans who long ago banished the magical creatures of Narnia to the wilderness. When the heir to the Telmarine throne, Caspian (Ben Barnes), survives an assassination attempt plotted by his scheming uncle, Miraz (Sergio Castellitto), the noble youth stumbles across Narnia's exiled enchanted population, and decides to lead them in an uprising, aided by Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy.

Considerably darker and more action-packed than THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, this 2008 sequel, once again directed by Andrew Adamson, is driven by the struggle between the Telmarines and the banished Narnians, resulting in many fierce battle sequences. While the newcomer Barnes and the established quartet of Moseley, Popplewell, Keynes, and Henley are all in fine form, CASPIAN is largely enhanced by its supporting cast, which includes indie mainstay Peter Dinklage as the dour dwarf Trumpkin and revered comedian Eddie Izzard as the voice of the swashbuckling mouse Reepicheep. Also briefly reprising their roles from the previous film are Liam Neeson, as the voice of Aslan, and Tilda Swinton, as the White Witch, actors who bring their familiar personas to this engaging and entertaining second chapter in the NARNIA saga.

Personally...better that the 1st

A Customer from Southampton, England, 25th November, 2008

I personally found this film slicker, darker and more engaging than the 1st. The action, production and story have all been upped significantly to offer a more satisfying viewing. I still love the 1st film but this was heading more towards the lord of the rings in scale and set pieces. The director has definitely moved in the right direction for the franchise.

Enjoyable Disney Flick

A Customer from Hemel Hempstead, 18th November, 2008

I loved the first film and was looking forward to this follow-on.The acting was excellent and the sets were spectacular. While it is a bit like a watered down version of Lord of the Rings the elves and Narnians were well done and the CGI was brilliant. The Blue-ray really comes into it's own with this film and the colours are wonderful and vibrant.Just a touch over 2 hours long but enjoyable fun.

Loved it!

A Customer from ENGLAND, 16th January, 2010

Not normally into sequels, but I thought this one worked well. The story is quite good and the action scenes are absolutely brilliant - just like in the first one. Great film if you are into fantasy movies!

Good film, bit dark for younlings

Michael Smith from Spennymoor, England, 6th November, 2009

I wasn't expecting much from this movie given the poor performance at the box office and Disney deciding not to do anymore after it(!) but i'm happy to say I was proved wrong. It's a good deal darker than the fluffy first one with a great deal more battles and this time against humans instead of fantasy characters. Good solid acting all round and a good story line made it an enjoyable watch. I hope someone picks up the mantle and makes the rest of the books.

Not as Good

A Customer from Reading, 18th August, 2009

I loved The Lion, the witch and the Wardrobe but Prince Caspian just didn't live up to expectations and I think that's because I found the book hard going. Will keep the kids quiet though
