Best chick flick this year bar sex and the city

serendipityneverland from from Watford, 30th September, 2008

This was a wonderful remake of the 1939 classic. And as in the original you never see one man in the movies - though they seem to be the main subject. If you like sex and the city and intelligent lively rom coms then this is for you. It boasts a great cast with some famous cameos. Bette Midler please stand up. Some tear jerking moments about friendship between women and the adorable debra messing scene stealing as the pregnant friend. The birth scene will bring back a few memories. Well worth a watch.

Very Disappointed...

Rubydoo from , 18th September, 2008

I was very much looking forward to this film, the cast was a fantastic line up so a I went along with my girlfriends to the cinema in the hope of seeing a funny chic flick. How wrong I was....the pull of this film was the cast, but this was the reason why I was so disappointed, they just did not gel and I felt that it was all rather disjointed and uncomfortable. Meg Ryan has lost all of her charm due to giving in to vanity and having grew (with the help of botox) the most horrible trout pout lips akin to Lesley Ash. Deborah Messing although was very good and Bette Midler was just under used - 5 minutes on the screen if that. The only real funny part was the end at the birth scene and then it was finished and I just got up and thought 'what a load of tripe' and the only memorable part of the evening was my popcorn which was unusually warm, sweet and very crunchy.....says it all then! I wouldn't even say wait for it on DVD, it was just awful.

poor

A Customer from London, 6th October, 2008

What a shame, the same old cliches. The one liners were poor. The acting was weak. It was a retake of sex and the city mixed with bambie. it had nothing to offer at all, not even a feel good factor. it was so weak i can't even remember if there was a plot and i only saw it two days ago.

Even Women would sleep at this Movie

pKirky from , 7th April, 2009

If you were going to make a film about women it should at least be about women who are exciting or have achieved something great. These women are just plain old boring high society gals who sit around and do nothing but complain and gossip......and thats it!! As a man I refuse to believe this is all women do - we live in the day where it is apparently great to be a women but it wasn't emphasised in this film. It's disappointing that you have such a great cast but yet the film doesn't live up to much, it doesn't really tackle anything or any issues. Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, and Jada Pinkett are all talented actresses and could have made this film a lot more than it really is. The film isn't funny nor heartfelt - its pretty much a snooze and even women would fall asleep at this.

Sorry slept right through it twice!

A Customer from Brighton, 20th March, 2010

This looked like a good film, great cast, excellent story but in reality it just never really took off for me. Watched it the first time on my own and dozed off. Thought it was because late one night so tried again in the day but it had the same effect!

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST

A Customer from London, 19th March, 2010

As a big fan of the the original 1930's film the women I was very excited to hear about the remake. What a waste of energy , I spent most of my time fastforwarding through the film ( it was that boring), this film just lacks the sparkle that made the original one of my favourite films. Characters that I adored from the original I can't stand in this remake. Dont waste money and time on this version , go see the orginal. but if u don't believe me about dull and inferior this film is wacth it yourself.

Predictable and boring

Taniwha from , 15th March, 2010

I thought this movie looked fab from the trailers and the cast but I was so disappointed! It's pretty awful. Totally predictable, slow and boring. Definitely not worth it in my opinion, watch the trailer, it's much more interesting!
