"Live!" follows ABN network president Katy Courbet and up-and-coming documentary filmmaker Rex as inspiration strikes to create the most daring reality program ever. The show is Russian Roulette, network style, with contestants competing for 5 million dollars on-air, complete with loaded guns. As seen through the lens of a documentary film crew, Live! examines the competitive and often gut-wrenching world of television production, where everyone from the crew to the contestants to the network brass becomes engulfed in a ratings battle to the top-a battle where questions of morality, ethics and sheer will lead to a darkly humorous and unforgettable outcome.

Must see. It's a journey and a half

artfilmaddict from from Cambridge, 12th March, 2009

This is one of those films I went out on a limb with, and I wasn't disappointed, at least, not in the end. In fact, I think the producers were putting themselves out there too, and deserve the credit for daring to pose the ultimate live TV question. I'll warn you now. Eva Mendes is somewhat intense, and you might at first find her character annoying, but stay with it. The plot does thicken around her. I didn't really know what to expect of the general style, or if the hand-held style would have me switch off, but by the end, you'll realise that it's part of the plan, and in my view, courageously directed. If you like films that make you think, and perhaps have you wondering whether there's some joke on you, then do watch this. If however, you want something to relax you with a glass of red, then forget it. Got watch a chick-flick. Personally, I'd recommend this to anyone, and I'm pretty sure most of my friends will thank me for it :)

Delivers a few jabs without the knockout punch

A Customer from Bolton, 30th March, 2009

The story itself, if not completely original about how far television stations will go to grab their share of the audience is an interesting one. However, the way that the subject matter is dealt with has the feel of a film made by film students whose only points of reference are from the last ten years of film and television. It's a an amusing concept cunjured up in a bar late at night that focuses more on the 'wouldn't it cool if we did...' idea of film making rather than acheiving greater dramactic and comedic impact by sticking as close to reality as possibly. Always good to see something that attempts to deviate from the Hollywood formula, but Big Brother was obviously still looking over their shoulders throughout.

I don't want to Live!!

A Customer from Swansea, 20th March, 2009

I thought this film was absolutely terrible. Eva Mendez looks amazing and is pretty good in her role, but the whole film is just utter turd. Without a doubt one of the worst films I have ever seen, ranking alongside Slap Her She's French!!

Superb

AndyYos from , 12th March, 2009

Loved this film. The ever lovely Eva Mendes shined in her role. She's always vastly underused in any film and she should surely hit the big time soon. You could believe this can happen soon and I'm sure it will one day. Imagine people playing russian roullette on TV and it becoming a number 1 show. Scary but true. Hated the hand held camera but loved the quality. Low budget film with a glossy look.

Bizzare Concept

woozip from from Notts, 7th October, 2009

Wow i was on the edge of my seat when the gameshow started - I felt really sorry for them - It was a klittle slow to get going but l was shocked when the guy actually died!! It certainly shocked me - I know if they actually did this on TV people would watch this though 'just to see' what happened. Hated the fact the main character dies at the end

Amazing!

A Customer from Wellingborough, 23rd September, 2009

I have to say i was a bit sceptical about a film around a reality tv show (I mean we really don't need any more of them in the world) but i have to say that this film was really really good. I was hooked from beginning to end and it really does make you question societys choices as a whole. Really worth a watch!

Worst film ever

Bez4481 from , 22nd September, 2009

I chose this film based on the premise which seemed alright. However having sat through 90 minutes I would like my money back. From the wooden acting, the attempt at moralising whilst trying to be funny, this movie is possibly the lamest thing I have seen in a very long time. The plot and character development smells of bad amateur university production. It attempts to be ironic but misses the mark as much as Alanis Morrisetts song Ironic. You will find more plot development and intelligence in an Arnie movie.
