Fun schlock

A Customer from England, 31st January, 2009

This prequel is actually a hell of a lot more fun than the first two movies, mainly because it tells a simple but effective story as efficiently as possible - think Romeo & Juliet meets Spartacus in a horror castle. The low budget does show through at times with some shoddy CGI but it's still enjoyable in a Hammer horror for the noughties way, helped by a cast of Brit thesps who pull off the lines with a straight face and bags of enthusiasm. It may not be a masterpiece but it does what it says on the tin cheerfully enough and doesn't outstay it's welcome (it's short and fast).

Part 3 and still going strong!!

Maynard from , 6th February, 2009

Having read the Empire magazine review which gave this film 1 star, I decided as usual to ignore it and see the film anyway. I was not disappointed as I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The film has two main themes, the rise of the Lycans and a love between the Vampire leader's daughter (Rhona Mitra) and the Lycan leader (Michael Sheen, who was appearing in the next door screen as David Frost in Frost vs Nixon, a very versatile actor!!!). The only thing which doesn't quite work, on the odd occasion, is the CGI but this does not detract from the enjoyment of the film. If you like fantasy with lots of action, then this is for you.

great prequel

A Customer from Yeovil, 30th January, 2009

If you liked the first 2 as I did you'll love it if you didn't you won't!! Rhona Mitra makes a great sexy heroine shame there is no real nudity as its an 18 certificate so it loses a star (but you can always rent the hollow man!) great action nice acting great gore! nicely ties into the other films Sorted! am hoping for number 4!!

Don't waste 2 hours of your life on this

A Customer from Saddleworth, 13th March, 2010

This film is just a poor excuse for more blood thirsty meetings between vampires and lycans. First film was good, sequal was iffy but this plunges to new depths.

apart for the duck face leading gal, i really enjoyed this film, i put it on full whack, and got well into it...it was a good length, problem with other films of the same ilk are that they just go on and on and dont know when to give it a rest, this film doesnt do this, so thumbs up. good amount of action.
