Based on Ian Fleming's 1961 novel. Here's 007 at his best. The fourth film in the Bond series finds the super spy battling a powerful organisation named S.P.E.C.T.R.E, which has threatened to destroy Miami with an atomic weapon unless a huge ransom is paid.

Beautiful BLU-RAY Transfer

Baz from , 5th March, 2009

I bought all 20 of the Ultimate 2DVD editions of the Bond films when they came out - I saw the astonishing quality of the print on 'You Only Live Twice' and knew I had to own them all. And every last one of them was a revelation - even the newer Brosnan ones. Unfortunately for our hard-pressed wallets - things have only gotten better - because on BLU-RAY all that huge cleaning up of the negative that went into the restoration process for the 2DVD reissues is even better on the new format - sharper and endlessly revealing - and all with the same stunning extras too... While 'Thunderball' isn't a patch on 'Goldfinger' - I'm buying it for how it looks. There are so many scenes - one that struck me as amazing - was the cockpit of the Vulcan bomber as the Spectre pilot takes over - the colour of EVERYTHING screams off the screen at you - it's just a small scene - but it's how it looks - absolutely gorgeous. After years of looking at dodgy scratchy videos - it really is a blast to see Bond like this. I've seen 'Dr. No' and 'From Russia With Love' also on BR and they're even better! And they are so entirely entertaining, they bear repeated viewing - it's doubtful you'll ever tire of them. There are few franchises that can say this. I'm afraid it's time to make the bank manager sweat again - because if you're a Bond fan, you absolutely have to have all of them on BLU RAY. Once you lay eyes on even one of them, this will become obvious. Oh dear!

Shattered illusions

A Customer from London, 16th May, 2009

All my illusions of how good this film is and how Great Sean Connery was in comparison to Daniel Craig have been shattered by watching this blue ray version since it’s release all those years ago. It looks dated and blue ray does nothing to add to the film. The old dog should have been left buried. At least I would have had a fond memory of it.
