Radio Times

After such heavyweight message flicks as The Shawshank Redemption and Dead Man Walking, Tim Robbins takes a comic breather in this glossy but empty-headed buddy movie. Robbins plays a stressed-out executive, who thinks his wife (Kelly Preston) is having an affair with his boss (Michael McKean). Seeking revenge, he finds an unlikely ally in petty thief Martin Lawrence — after he makes the mistake of trying to carjack Robbins. The two stars do their best with the comic crumbs they are handed, but both they and writer/director Steve Oedekerk are hampered by the fact that this is an action comedy where nothing really happens.

Absolutely dire

I'm still shocked how bad this was. What was Tim Robbins thinking?

A real must see!

A Customer from London, 7th July, 2004

This was recommended to me by a friend and has now become a real favourite. A hilarious film, lots of laugh-out-loud comedy. The scene with Tim Robbins 'dancing' by the car will have you in stitches. The two actors work well together with their relationship developing on screen throughout their crazy day. The film reminds me of 'Falling Down', where events spiral out of control, but with laughs. A great view, highly recommended!

Funny in parts

Sirwatchalot from from Knebworth, 14th October, 2008

This film is hilarious in places, but to be considered any good I would have expected it to have been funnier. Tim Robbins plays his comedy role very well which is surprising as he is not really known as a comedy actor. The part where they are robbing a hardware store for two flashlights had me in stitches and this is the part where Robbins showed he is capable of being funny. Martin Lawrence is OK but he basically plays the same role he always does and this means he is not that funny. I would actually say he is a bit tiresome as his character can be seen in numerous other roles in other films. If I had to characterise ths film it would be a typical Sunday afternoon film when the only other thing to watch is EastEnders. 2/5

A kids film thats not suitable for kids.

A Customer from Tunbridge Wells, 1st December, 2008

A very simple film that would have been really good for familes if it wasn't for the constant swearing and sex 'jokes'. I wouldn't mind, but the story would have worked perfectly well without them. Not much happens and its fairly slow moving, but there is a good twist at the end.... Well 2 good twists really, it just takes forever to get there!!
