Some people may laugh at me but I quite enjoyed this film. i have read the book a few times and seen the original james Mason flick but was impressed with this. It kind of twisted the original story and extended on it a little and this worked well. I would recommend this if you have the ability to be open minded about a remake.

Stick with the Original Film

Treat Williams is no James Mason; the very poor quality CGI dinosaurs are not a patch on the original painted-up lizards; and this flabby TV movie is about 90 minutes too long. It's a pity, as George 'Mad Max' Miller is a quality director and Treat Williams has done a lot better in a 'battling against monsters' role (check out the ace schlock-horror 'Deep Rising'). The original film has been restored and remastered into anamorphic widescreen, and is available now on DVD. Enuff said...

If your children are under 10 and like adventure/dinosuar films this is right up your street. Its in two parts so don't make a mistake and miss the second instalment.

quite like it. it was really entertaining, just try not to expect much of the special fx.

Good family entertainment, eventhough I preferred the original version.
