Celebrity photographer Connor Mead loves freedom, fun and women--in that order. A committed bachelor who thinks nothing of breaking up with multiple women on a conference call, Connor's mockery of romance proves a real buzz-kill for his kid brother, Paul, and a houseful of well wishers on the eve of Paul's wedding. Just when it looks like Connor may single-handedly ruin the wedding, he is visited by the ghosts of his former jilted girlfriends, who take him on a revealing and hilarious odyssey through his failed relationships-past, present and future. Together they attempt to find out what turned Connor into such an insensitive jerk and whether there is still hope for him to find true love... or whether he really is the lost cause everyone thinks he is.

Screwed not Scrooged

A blatant rip-off of Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol'. Instead of Scrooge the miser, you have Matthew McConaughey the self-centred womaniser. Instead of the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, you have ghosts of girlfriends past, present and future. I suppose the brother and his wedding, that McConaughey screws up, is in place of the down-trodden Cratchit family. There are a few points in the film where a slightly amusing instance occurs, like the wedding cake and the little boy digging snow beneath the window, who is asked 'Is today Christmas?' to which he replies 'No it's Saturday you moron!' To sum up, a very poor chick-flick/rom-com, with little to offer in originality and laughs. I think moronic sums it up, just as the little boy said!!!!

Worth a watch

A Customer from rotherham, 11th May, 2009

Although this film is a typical chick flick its one with a difference. Based upon Dickens A Christmas Carol the hero is made to see the error of his ways, resulting in, yes you guessed it - a happy ending. Whilst it may not be the most original plot this film is worth a look, especially on a miserable sunday afternoon when the weather is its usual miserable self. Definately has that feel good factor and offers an interesting take on Scrooge.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

A Customer from Glasgow, 26th October, 2009

Having just joined I was really looking forward to watching my first film. What a disappointment, this film was boring, boring boring! I watched about 40 minutes hoping it would get better but it was not to be. It wasn,t funny either! This was a case of easy money for the actors involved.

The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Keeley Andrews from Wickford, Essex, 16th March, 2010

This was very watchable - Matthew McConnaughy is very easy on the eye and there was a good chemistry between him and Jennifer Garner. It is just a lighthearted romantic comedy where you don't have to think too much. it is not an Oscar winner but I don't think it is trying to be. Definintely one for the girls on a Friday night in with a glass of wine.

Really Enjoyed it

Ramtastic from , 15th March, 2010

This was on my rental list as a 'filler' so when it dropped through the letter box I wasn't overly enthusiastic to watch it. Anyway I did and how wrong can you be - loved it - great flick - very funny and McConaughey was very convincing as the lead man with an eye for the ladies, I might even pop out and buy it !

Matthew McConaughy should start to turn down these 'forever batchelor' roles as they do him no favours. A humourless film about a guy that can't commit who has a chance to review his life and change. I usually love Jennifer Garner too but she is wasted as the true love interest. A chick flick that is one to miss.
