Mimic 1 was quite an enjoyable film. At least it had plausible characters and an involving story line, even though the science of it all was a little far-fetched. Mimic 2 however, had none of that, especially missing the presence of Mina Sorvino. In Mimic 2, the story was slow to get started, and the ties into the first film were flimsy at most. The characters were loose and unbelievable, and the deaths of the many hapless humans were not gory enough for a horror flick. All in all, if you are into horror, do not watch this film on pain of death. Like so many B-movie sequels, this one has flopped onto its face. I would literally stamp it under my boot!

Not as good as the first Mimic movie

DJM666 from , 2nd March, 2006

An enjoyable and entertaining movie, which has a similar look and style as the original Mimic film, and is an acceptable continuation of the Mimic idea/story. Also like the original movie, Mimic 2 has some good special effects and good (if obvious) CGI effects. The film is not as good as the original Mimic, but it is perfectly acceptable as a sequel (even if it is too short at only 75-minutes, and never really goes anywhere). If you watch with high expectations you will be disappointed, but watch expecting a watchable DTV movie and you should be pretty happy with what you see!

OK the original was ok so this should have been awful. But it wasn't. It was also just ok. They have resisted the temptation (I think the only horror sequel EVER to do so) to see much more of the creature effects. The creature is almost not in this film, the atmosphere is purely created by the characters and I give it credit for that. The story, acting and science leave a little to be desired, but hey - a worthy sequel of an OK film.

Cheaper, dumber, less credible, and Mira'less sequel, which actually is quite alot of fun. This film features the last survivor of the Bugs from the original, which ala Alien(s), should probaly mean it was, story permitting, better of as the first film, but in lieu of its lower budget, it hasn't done to badly. Running like a comtemporary Hammer Horror, the Bug picks people of one by one, seemingly protecting the central female figure like a jealous boyfreind. Lots of cheap scares and some unpleasent moments, check what you pull out of the popcorn bag before you put it in your mouth, and have fun.

I can't believe they gave these people a budget for this, first film was good but this just just shockingly bad. And I really, really mean that.

Okay - but pretty pointless

wikkidsmyle from , 3rd March, 2007

The original 'Mimic' was a quality horror film with believable characters and some scary moments. This sequel tries to 'mimic' this, but falls flat on it face. It's too short for a start, with a story line that seems to give up well before the end of the film. Better stick with the original and forget they ever made an sequels.
