When a secret military border post falls silent, an army team is dispatched overnight to re-establish contact and safely retrieve the son of the Army Chief of Staff who is posted there. What they find is so shocking that HQ orders GP506 to be burnt to the ground at dawn - incinerating the evidence. The investigative team are left with just eight hours to explore the maze-like underground tunnels, find their target and uncover the truth. Time is running out, but the terror that has engulfed GP506 has only just begun.

shock

A Customer from Peterborough, 4th November, 2008

I'm still a little bit shocked still, This film was a very good one and unlike most of the foreign movies i have watched over the last year it had very good actors who you can believe and a script that you can really get into, The script kept me guessing all the way through, and i would advise everyone to give it a try, even if your not into foreign films. I would also say after the last year of typical american horrors its a very refreshing change, don't get me wrong, the story line is not a new one, but it is told very well. Enjoy.

Good looking B-movie

A Customer from London, 30th November, 2008

Didn't rate this much at all. Maybe it had a little to do with the fact it looked and felt the same as R Point, made by the same director but in my view a much better and cleverer film. This film looks good and is well made but it just feels as though the directors been lazy and just changed the script from R point........ A bit ike Guy Richie but obviously nowhere near as bad. I just felt the plot was stupid, along with most of the acting. The main few characters and the acting of them were strong, but the support, who have a big part in the film, were just plain silly most of the time. (Not sure if following counts as a spoiler) The virus origins aren't explained or even hinted at. Normally this isn't a problem for me. I'm used to Asian films and they often tend not to explain everything that happens as their view is that things in life just happen and we can't always explain them. I have no problem with this, indeed that's one of the reasons i'm a big fan of Asian horror, but in this film it just didn't make sense and i really wanted to have some clue as to whether it was man made, natural or something stranger. It's also plainly obvious from early on what the outcome has to/is going to be. At least it avoided any temptation of a cheesy 'maybe it's not all over' type ending. At the end of the film i felt like i'd just watched a B-movie with a big budget.

blu-ray special features don't work!!!

Dodgyroge from , 30th December, 2009

not a bad film, not the best Korean film i've seen but definitely worth a watch in my opinion. One thing though..... the special features on the blu-ray wouldn't play! click on them and it just returned to the main menu. the only one that did work was on the trailer gallery (also from trailer) - not even the trailers for the film would work!

Erm...

wikkidsmyle from , 19th October, 2009

Before I start, I'm not xenophobic. Okay... I really struggled with this film and not because it's Korean and had subtitles; I have no problems with subtitled films. The problem was that the story was really deep (not the usual horror film fare) and the characters were not that polarised, either in looks or name (one was called Kang, another Bang - just needed a few spelling errors in the subtitles!). There's no denying the gothic atmosphere (set in an underground modern-day bunker) and the brilliant old-school prosthetic effects, but (and I hate to say this) a properly-done Westernised version (like 'Dark Water') might make things clearer...

Scott147 from from Clackmannanshire, 1st March, 2009

This film is slow and hard going. If you arent in the mood for that then dont rent this one. Can't give it too much of a hard time though as i didnt actuallu watch much of it. All sub titles too.
