Pixar's tenth film is one of the most uplifting ever made. It's an instant classic and one of those rare movies which will appeal to all ages and intellects. It has heart and intelligence, beauty and excitement, plus loads and loads of imagination.

superb..................................

williamsgwynfa from , 2nd June, 2009

this film was recently showcased at the Cannes film festival and is superb. Up features the voices of Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Bob Peterson and Jordan Nagai. Up is a computer-animated comedy-adventure about a cranky old man called Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) and an overeager Wilderness Explorer Scout called Russell (voiced by Jordan Nagai) who wants to earn his 'assisting the elderly' badge which is the only one that he does not have. Carl wants to keep a promise to his deceased wife Ellie to fly to Paradise Falls in South America - so he devises a way to keep this promise by creating a makeshift airship using thousands of helium balloons which will lift his house off its foundation. Russell meanwhile has stowed away on the porch of the house after being sent on a snipe hunt by Carl the day before. Both are now aboard the floating house suspended from helium balloons on an adventure of a lifetime. Well worth watching !

Brilliant!

A Customer from mood swing central, 4th October, 2009

Pixar keep getting it just right - the perfect combination of humour and heart for kids and grown ups. I was in a small preview screening and everyone from 3 to 300, {or so ;) }, was having a blast. Whilst being very funny it's also a rather touching story, I hesitate to use the phrase 'heartwarming' but it was - without once being oversentimetal. It brought a smile to my face, a tear to my eye, and had me laughing out loud over and over again. An absolute joy to behold - all hail Pixar!

Not a children's film

A Customer from Aberdeen, 12th November, 2009

Everyone else seemed to love this film but it just didn't work for me. I felt the story was really for adults, for the kids it just wasn't what I expected from Pixar. The story was deep and dark, and not suitable for kids, however I found that the comedy was just silly and didn't make me laugh at all, the talking dogs just seemed weird. I think that the children might have found the talking dogs funny if they fitted in with the story. My 4 year old was terrified and my 6 year old was bored. My friend left 1/2 way through with her 5 year old as she was in tears befause it was so scary. I stuck it out to the end with my kids thinking that it had to get better but it didn't, ending was predictable and I could have found better ways to spend the afternoon.

Up, up and away!

Barnseytheclaret from , 21st March, 2010

Pixar once again deliver a film that has a little bit of everything for everyone: my 3 year old likes it, and so do I! There is some clever humour here and the story is deeper than the average cartoon / animation. An uplifting film!

Up 2009

A Customer from Bournemouth, 20th March, 2010

The normal excellent animation and attention to detail you would expect from Pixar, but the storyline was just too strange for my liking, and there was not the full set of lovable characters that have littered previous offerings. The one redeeming feature was the full on orchestral music, which was fantastic, but then, music does not make a movie. I hope Toy Story 3 is better!

Superb Animation, one for the adults too

Henspens from , 19th March, 2010

This is a lovely story about a young boy and old man and how they should and can get along and learn from each other. The animation is great, lovely bright colours and clear images. This would be great on the big screen. Highly recommended
