Two time Oscar-winning visual effects artist Hoyt Yeatman makes his feature directorial debut with this Jerry Bruckheimer-produced family film following a group of highly trained guinea pigs on their mission to prevent an evil billionaire from taking over the world. Beginning in the Civil War -- when carrier pigeons delivered messages from the front lines -- the American government has been covertly training animals to work in espionage. The latest government program is a clandestine espionage team known as "G-Force," which includes a team of ultra-intelligent guinea pigs who share 98.7 percent of their DNA with humans. Comprised of unpredictable weapons expert Blaster (voice of Tracy Morgan), alluring martial arts expert Juarez (voice of Penelope Cruz), stealthy reconnaissance expert Mooch, and a star-nosed mole named Speckles (voice of Nicolas Cage), who specializes in computers, this crack team of agents is fronted by heroic squad leader Darwin (voice of Sam Rockwell). When a deranged billionaire hatches a plan to control the entire planet through common household appliances, the G-Force leaps into action on a mission to ensure that he does not succeed.

Zzzzz-Force!

mcfabb from , 4th August, 2009

What a pedestrian, tedious excuse for a summer blockbuster this is. If you can see it in 3-D don't bother paying the extra as the effects are very underwhelming. 'Bolt' or 'Coraline' were both excellent in this regard. Equally un impressive are the script, story and preformanaces. Bill Nighy (unusually) turns in a performance where he barely seems awake or interested it is so lacking in character or passion. The vocal talents are completely forgettable, Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz are mediocre and unengaging, Steve Buscemi gives it some brio but overall the story is turgid and lame. 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' was cute, funny and with an engaging story. This is a no-brain, glossy, expensive turkey.

superb....................

williamsgwynfa from , 8th July, 2009

this film is superb. It stars the voice talents of Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell, Jon Favreau, Bill Nighy, Penélope Cruz, Steve Buscemi and Tracy Morgan. The film revolves around a team of trained secret agent animals who are guinea pigs Darwin (played by Sam Rockwell), Juarez (played by Penélope Cruz), Blaster (played by Tracy Morgan), Mole Speckles (played by Nicolas Cage) and a fly called Mooch (played by Edwin Louis). The team takes on a mission for the US government to stop evil billionaire Leonard Saber (played by Bill Nighy), who plans to destroy the world with household appliances. Before they can accomplish their mission, the government shuts them down and they are sentenced to a pet shop. Darwin, Juarez, Blaster, Speckles, Mooch, and their new friends Hurley (played by Jon Favreau) and hamster Bucky (played by Steve Buscemi) will escape the cage to defeat the villain, stop his threat, and save the world. Well worth watching.

Dismal Disney

ChrystalTips from from Wootton Bassett, England, 22nd December, 2009

Dismal Disney film that I won't be watching again. I was really looking forward to watching this when I first saw it advertised, the wait was not worth it. I did watch the whole film though resisting the 'eject' button. Kids will probably love this film especially if they own a guinea pig or 2..... but think i'll stick with Toy Story!

Kids (and parents) dream.

Jan180 from , 19th March, 2010

Usual high quality adventure with brilliantly thought out characters and enough storyline to keep them watching. I like trying to guess the voice overs and scored about 50% on this one!. Bowl popcorn needed for this family entertainment.
