Who gets played?

A Customer from SW London, 11th April, 2009

Well, from the film title it's clear someone is out to be played (or conned in other words), but who, exactly could that be? The film is not very easy to follow with flashbacks all over the place that muddle the plotline somewhat. However, despite the odd flashbacks that didn't really have much of a sequence to it, it was possible to follow the story to the end.Personally I found the film tedious to watch, as it lacked the pace that was necessary to keep the viewer interested.I guess I found it really hard to believe how mucky coroporate espionage is and to what extraordinarily great lengths companies will go to, to top the competition.I wasn't particularly interested in watching the film but my friend is a huge Owen fan and wanted to see the film , so I went along. On this occasion the film is sadly, as lacklustre as the trailer!

Not worth the effort

This film is awful, it jumps around all over the place. If it were interesting that that would be fair enough, but it is boring & pointless.

A big let down

Henspens from , 31st March, 2009

I really enjoy watching Julia Roberts USUALLY and it's true to say that she's ok in this film but the plot is so jumpy going back and forth that after about 20 mins you loose it completely and give up trying to follow it. Clive Owen is as wooden as a park bench and not at all attention grabing on the screen. The story line is clever and could have been put across so much better. Don't waste your money or time in seeing this film.

This film will make you think

A Customer from Fife, 12th March, 2010

An enjoyable caper. I have to confess to having to watch it a second time to fully appreciate it. Clive Owens plays his part superbly and Julia Roberts, while she puts in a creitable performance it is not one of her top notch efforts. I suspect this film will get as manyy TV run as Pretty Woman when it is available in that medium.

Sleepy Time

ColaSquareEyes from , 12th March, 2010

I had seen clips of this movie and it looked not only good but clever. However despite the fact that i like both the main actors, myself and my husband voted for a turn off after about 50 minutes and that was pushing it!. Maybe we didn't get to the clever/funny bit but we really struggled. I was more than a little disappointed to turn off Clive and my hubby felt somewhat the same about Julia! So much potential but left deflated! Promised much but delivered little - next!!

Just not worth the effort

LizLen from , 11th March, 2010

Yes, it takes effort to follow, very hard going & complex, so don't watch it if tired. Both actors have been in better films, this is definitely B Rate for each of them. The denouement was probably ambitious, trying to be the Sting, but it wound up a damp squib & anti climax. Very dissappointing all round.
