From the writer/director of Michael Clayton, Duplicity is a smart, slick and cool espionage movie. As the stakes rise in the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse, they'll put everything on the line to remain one double-cross ahead of the rest.

Who gets played?

A Customer from SW London, 11th April, 2009

Well, from the film title it's clear someone is out to be played (or conned in other words), but who, exactly could that be? The film is not very easy to follow with flashbacks all over the place that muddle the plotline somewhat. However, despite the odd flashbacks that didn't really have much of a sequence to it, it was possible to follow the story to the end.Personally I found the film tedious to watch, as it lacked the pace that was necessary to keep the viewer interested.I guess I found it really hard to believe how mucky coroporate espionage is and to what extraordinarily great lengths companies will go to, to top the competition.I wasn't particularly interested in watching the film but my friend is a huge Owen fan and wanted to see the film , so I went along. On this occasion the film is sadly, as lacklustre as the trailer!

Not worth the effort

This film is awful, it jumps around all over the place. If it were interesting that that would be fair enough, but it is boring & pointless.

A big let down

Henspens from , 31st March, 2009

I really enjoy watching Julia Roberts USUALLY and it's true to say that she's ok in this film but the plot is so jumpy going back and forth that after about 20 mins you loose it completely and give up trying to follow it. Clive Owen is as wooden as a park bench and not at all attention grabing on the screen. The story line is clever and could have been put across so much better. Don't waste your money or time in seeing this film.

Love Julie Roberts in anything. Good film, good plot, though my Husband couldn't follow it.... thats not hard he fell asleep half way through. Wanted to watch it since we saw some of the film being made in New York..........

Very clever

A Customer from Tunbridge Wells, 5th November, 2009

When you watch this film you have to pay a lot of attention to events as they are very mixed up and at the end all make sense with very suprising end. The couple play their roles very well and have some funny moments, worth watching it if you love Julia Roberts.

Wasn't as exciting as I had hoped, not keen when the film jumps backwards and forwards in time think most of the best bits were shown as the trailers for the film

This film was absolutely shocking!! I really thought this would be good with such mainstream lead actors but boy was I wrong!! The main problem was there was no chemistry between Julia Roberts and Clive Owen, the second problem was that the story line was so confusing I didn't have a clue what was happening, and to be honest after an hour I didn't care either. Consequently, I gave up and sent the DVD back........... This film is pretty poor and I wouldn't recommend it not even to die hard Julia and Clive fans!!
