They came for water. And for food. And as it turned out, we were the food. But humanity bravely resisted-a struggle seen in the hit miniseries V and V: The Final Battle. Yet the war continues. The heroic conflict comes to a surprising outcome in V: The Series, presented complete and uncut in this three disc, 19 episode set. Once again, Earth is the main battleground. But now the aliens whose human guise hides their true reptilian natures are wiser. They believe the secret to their survival on Earth lies in the DNA of the newly born half-human, half-spaceling Starchild. They intend to capture her. But that's something the world's Resistance Fighters cannot allow.

The Aliens are back and they're hungrier than ever...

JOHNNY IN KENT from ENGLANDS GARDEN!, 26th August, 2005

For the best part 'V' was a huge success, capturing images reminiscent of Hitler and his regime in World War II except in 'V' were dealing with the threat with lizard aliens disguised under human skin. This 3rd instalment continues from V THE MINI SERIES & V THE FINAL BATTLE, with the evil Commander Diana (played brilliantly by Jane Badler) escaping from the stolen mother ship in an alien shuttle only to be persued by our hero Mike Donovan (Marc Singer)... V The Series with it's 19 action packed episodes starts with great promise and some excellent story lines but mid season alot of the popular cast, for some reason, leave and the cast are reduced to a bare minimum leaving storylines weak and pretty actionless. With its annoying cliff hanger ending in episode 19, you are left feeling 'short changed' by the series, almost wanting more but sadly there was no more 'V' What ever happens to Kyle and Elizabeth as they return to the alien world of Sirious 3 is and will always remain a mystery unless you follow the fan fiction on various 'V' websites. 'V' for victory, lets hope someday it will return... Give this set a go infact if you are not familiar with the series give all the available dvds a go, it's classic sci-fi with a great storyline. That's why I have given it 5 stars.

V-The series aired a year after V-The final battle mini series,i remeber watching this as a kid on mon nights at 11pm on itv..lol The series continues some months after the end of the mini series,it starts promisingly but denegerates into farce and campness as it goes on. Made in the mid 80's the network gave this a space dynasty/dallas make over which was a far cry from the mini series. Original producer and creator kenneth johnson bailed out at the mini series stage and whoever took over bodged it up completley. It ends on a cliffhanger at ep 19..a 20th episode was written and you can find it on the net to find out what happened if you look hard enough. This is worth a look but the serious tone of the mini series is dumbed down for the series.

I remember watching this when I was a kid and it was fantastic. The first time you see one of the aliens take their mask off is great!! The story kept me entertained through the whole series!! Cant wait until this is released!

the best TV-series ever created

A Customer from London, 21st January, 2008

Although it may now look a bit dated, I strongly recommend it to anyone that’s into science fiction. The acting, especially from Jane Badler, as an evil lady lizard, is first class and so is the plot. Admittedly, as the series progress, the plot start to take a different direction, (a sci-fi soap opera if you like) but is still remains highly entertaining. It is impossible not to be fascinated by the aliens and their evil intentions and I was captivated from episode one. It’s just not possible not to like this and I rate this as one of the best TV-series ever created.

V-ery disappointing

Brian from Essex, 7th September, 2008

On the tail of the well-made pair of mini-series came this cheap weekly cash-in show. You get the feeling that most parties concerned try their hardest with the meagre resources at hand. But lack of funds, time, and ability really lets the show down. One of the main characters is called Ham, ironic as Michael Ironside is one of only a handful of actors on the screen that doesn't give a ham performance (other notable performances include Robert Englund (Willie) and Jennifer Cooke (Elizabeth)). The actress playing Diane and Lydia have two shared acting styles 1.Hands on hips/smiling (I am about to do something evil) 2.Hands on hips/eyebrow raised (somebody has done something I don't like) Faye Grant reads her lines and smiles efficiently and Marc Singer spends most of his time being upstaged by his over-tight jeans. Also, a lack of attention to detail makes you wonder if anyone viewed the episodes before airing - missing blue-screen backgrounds, characters/actors in opening credits weeks after they had been killed off, terrible use of foley. A lot of contemporary shows film too much for the allocated time-slot giving the producers the opportunity to cherry-pick scenes and performances, so that the show crams in so much well-written story into each episode. The opposite can be said of V - with scenes being over-long, shots being reused (often in quick succession), and plots lacking detail or development. This is notable further and further into series. It's also worth noting that by mid-season all of the black/jewish/latin-american characters are killed-off. Very strange. A missed opportunity.

kelticboy from , 23rd April, 2008

I remember seen this as a teenager the LA olympics were on after this. It was just absolute brilliant then and now .Then about year later we got the next instalment it was brill as well then we got the series 19 episodes it was good in the begging but kind went south in the end and if memory serves me right itv put on to a later slot .The only thing disappointing about it was the ending leaving you hanging on .It never came back i was really disappointed at the time .With so many TV series getting a remake or redone IE bionic woman flash gordon battle star galactica and so on or things like star trek next generation or TV series made in to film spiderman hulk flash gordon superman so on why not do a redo or at least a proper ending maybe v 25 years on i would watch that so lets hope for one of the best scifi ever on TV
