After their hit THE EYE was remade by others, this time the Pang Brothers take the wheel as they revisit their first film together. In BANGKOK DANGEROUS, Nicolas Cage (NATIONAL TREASURE, LORD OF WAR) stars as Joe, a hit man who goes to Thailand on a mission. The beauty of both the city and one of its residents distracts Joe, and he begins to take a young man under his wing, but his boss won't let the original goal be forgotten.

Avoid at all costs!!!

Keith Littleworth from Nottingham, 21st September, 2008

As a big Nic Cage fan, I was really looking forward to this. I was hoping it would be a ballsy action movie in the same shape as CON AIR and THE ROCK. Unfortunately we have the worst film of the year so far and perhaps Cage's worst movie of his career. Don't let the trailer featuring car chases, explosions, gunplay and hand to hand combat fool you. This is a tediously slowburning drama/thriller with three action set pieces. Cage's character is eccentrically quirky throughout, but not in an enjoyable way. I found him quite irritating. As for someone who is an assassin trying to keep a low profile, a bizzare receading bouffant is not the answer. Corny dialogue, second rate action and a steaming heap of a storyline. Belongs on the bottom shelf of the video shop next to Segal, and Van Damme, not on the big screen. Avoid!

Truly awful

A Customer from Leeds, 14th September, 2008

That's £6.50 and 90 mins of my life I'm never getting back. Five people walked out of the cinema about 30 minutes in. Dull and pointless - what was Nicholas Cage thinking?

Absolute Rubbish!!

A Customer from London, 31st December, 2008

This is an appalling film by Nick Cage. A feeble and regurgitated story line, weak performance and yet for some reason i watched intently hoping..just hoping it will get better then.....it ended. Waste of time!!

Enjoyable Action Movie

A Customer from Nottingham, 12th September, 2008

This follows the life of a hit man (Nic Cage) as he tells the audience about his rules for being the best at what he does. We follow him to Bankok for one of his assignments and most of the story is set there. It is cleverly put together and there is plenty of action, violence and a bit of blood, but it's not over the top with gore. I haven't seen the movie upon which this is based, so was completely open about what to expect. I would recommend you don't watch the trailer as that gave way too much away and yes, in places, it is a bit predictable. I also have to say I wasn't a fan of the ending which seemed a bit too abrupt and sudden, but then that mirrors the life of a hit man. I would recommend if you like action with story and I thought Nic Cage was excellent, but someone should tell him that long hair isn't good - didn't he learn that from 'Next'?

What a load of rubbish

A Customer from Crewe, 24th February, 2010

What was the point. I can't put a spoiler in because there is no plot. Boring long scenes, lots of gratuitous violence. I am flabbergasted anyone in the film industry agrees to let this cr*p onto our screens.

Worth a watch

AJ01 from , 19th February, 2010

This is not Cage's best role, however, it is still entertaining. It is not an all out action film it has a slower pace. Good fun with pretty Thai girls (I think) to boot.

Piss Pang wallop.

Rambowick from , 17th February, 2010

Pang bro's should have kept this one firmly in the Asian Cinema niche, it was a hit originally and I very much enjoyed the moody original with the set pieces it offered and the morality of the characters. The remake however reeks of sub standard hashed together scenes with a painfully bad Cage just taking his pay cheque for the sake of it, he really needs to get his agent looking at better roles rather than 'safe' remakes , he's never bested his 'Kiss of death' turn and with slop like this he wont come close soon, and lets not mention the wicker man!. My gift to you is this...Avoid it, the Blu ray is grainy and poor audio.
