You're a London tube driver and you've had two 'one-unders' in as many weeks. You're traumatized but completely blameless. Then you're told about the '3 and Out' rule; three fatal accidents within a month and you're out of a job but with a huge pay off! What do you do? Take trauma counselling and drive very, very carefully? Or do you seek out a suicide victim, take the cash, pay off your debts and retire to a Scottish idyll to write your novel?

should be banned

driver73 from from Billingshurst, 24th April, 2008

I am a train driver, this film disgusts me. Firstly the 3 and out rule is rubbish, does not exist. I have many driver friends and they all feel the same as me. To make light of what happens when a driver is involved in a 'one under' is disgraceful, some drivers can deal with it, however some drivers have never driven again after their first one, thus losing their career and there isnt a big pay off! Yes we are paid well but there is a reason for this, unfortunately the general public never get a chance to see our job through our eyes, i only wish you could. I urge you not to see this film, this is no joking matter!!!!!

Great film!!

A Customer from Preston, 23rd May, 2008

This film is great!!! Forget what people say about it being wrong to make fun of the job or the 'one under' situation the fact is this film is a comedy. If this film is banned like the last review suggest's then surely we must ban all comedy films or all films for that matter. Maybe we should only watch films like Bambie but cut out the scene where the mother die's (We dont want to hurt the deer's feelings). The fact is this films is a light hearted comedy and is very funny. How do i know this??? I've seen it!!! So if you like a good comedy then watch this. If you think are just goin to complain about the film then dont watch it. Easy.

Three and Out - Three Stars maybe...

VANTERHEYDEN from from London, 22nd April, 2008

Three and Out (2008) As the overpaid and Naïve London Underground employee’s picket this film before they’ve seen it – complaining that it insults their occupation – I felt it would be fitting to go see this film to see what the fuss was all about. Paul Callow (Mackenzie Crook) has a bad couple of weeks as a London Underground Tube Driver – (Spoiler – but not really giving anything away here) – Paul hits and kills two Passengers while driving his Underground Train. Paul then hears from his matey colleagues that there is a Three and Out Rule in place – if he kills three people with his train within a month he will be retired and paid 10 years salary – so judging by what the average tube driver earns this probably equates to over £500,000+ ($1m+). Hence, Paul sets about to find a third victim – of course this is where the film really begins and the journey for Paul moves from off the track to the streets of Liverpool and the scenery of Cumbria, on this journey Paul may end up finding more than just another victim but potentially finding himself. Now I always like to give British Films a chance and on first impressions this one isn’t too bad for a light comedy – however everything about it strikes you while you watch it as “Average”. The jokes will make you smirk and maybe laugh occasionally but it’s not side-splitting and it’s certainly not original. From the word go – the film is predictable and nothing that special. Imelda Staunton and Colm Meaney are the strongest performers in this flick. The St Trinian who only left RADA last year (Gemma Artertan) is the eye candy in this film – but her performance is almost comparable to the cameo of the awful and dire Kerry Katona. However the biggest gripe comes half way into the movie when the Director thinks it would be a good idea to experiment with Angles. Now camera angles rarely bother me – but in this film while Mackenzie and Colm are shouting near a bunch of cows the director really should have reshot – shaky almost out of focus and badly directed – however thankfully the rest of the movie isn’t shot in this way. An enjoyable film if you’re not expecting anything, but it’s certainly not going to make waves over seas as this is no Full Monty or Four Weddings. It certainly doesn’t merit the attention of the overpaid Underground Unions; it simply doesn’t insult the occupation of driving Underground Train so they really shouldn’t bother picketing as this film will be forgotten very quickly.

Not quite what I was expectng

But it proved to be an almost moving film with a few funny bits. Kerry Katona's part wasn't worth having though! Quite enjoyed it!

This has to be one of the funniest films I have ever seen. The characters are great you get to know them quite well and go through their emotions with them - Great for a comedy. A truly excellant film to cheer you up anytime - I will buy this film and it will be one I watch again and again

Down and Out

Minopater from , 2nd December, 2009

The trouble with this film is that it can't seem to decide whether it wants to be a black comedy or a fairly light-hearted romance and it somehow falls between the two. There's not much to laugh at, some pathetic slapstick comedy,a couple of slices of pathos, and a surprise ending (well, for me anyway) - all a bit of a turgid mess really.
