Best known for her dazzling performances with Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers rose to become one of the leading ladies of Hollywood. This collection includes three films from her acclaimed career; In A SHRIEK IN THE NIGHT (1933) a shrill scream disrupts the night, and a man plummets from a penthouse balcony to his death, setting in motion this clever absorbing mystery. THE THIRTEENTH GUEST (1932) is a classic poverty-row thriller, with a hooded madman who kills the residents of a spooky old house with electricity. In HEARTBEAT (1946) Rogers plays Arlette, a young girl down-on-her-luck who escapes from reform school to enroll in a pickpocket academy taught by Professor Aristide (Basil Rathbone, in a scene-stealing performance).
