Following SG-1 and The Ark of Truth, Stargate: Continuum is the latest chapter in this incredible series. The venerable Richard Dean Anderson returns to the fold, whilst the late Don S. Davis makes his final appearance as General George Hammond.

While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba'al, the last of the Goa'uld System Lords, Teal'c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what's happened, hundreds of Goa'uld motherships arrive in orbit, led by Ba'al, his queen Qetesh (Vala), and his first prime, Teal'c. The remaining SG-1 members must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa'uld.

***RIP DON S. DAVIS*** As a massive fan of SG-1 for the last decade along with Atlantis, which is ofcoruse now entering its 5th year, i was left feeling a little dissapointed by the way SG-1 ended or 'unended' as it were. The first SG-1 movie (Ark of Truth) did a decent job of closing up the Ori story strands but felt a little forced; this on the other hand is a whole 'different ball game' to quote Amanda Tapping. Now without the need to match up to existing storylines Continuum able to hit the ground running and take the story where ever it wanted. The basic plot is that Bal has gone back in time to the 1930's and stopped the gate reaching America therefore changing world history to the point where the SGC is never established and therefore the fall of the Gou'd. However, since SG-1 are in transit through the gate at the time they are protected and end up in the alternet world and work to put things right. Whats great about this plot is that it allows them to bring back all the charaters from SG-1 (even Jay Davidson from the 1994 movie) such as the late Don S. Davis. The production values are also high with the US armed forces clearly going out of their way to help production since they view Stargate as an amazing recruitment opertunity. I don't want to give to much away in this review so i'll stop there but i really enjoed this movie and i hope they make many more in the years to come; along with the new Stargate Universe concept.

back with style!

S.Carroll from Cheshire, England, 7th April, 2008

This Excellent movie throws SG-1 not only back in time but also back the the good old style formula, including the great storylines and production values. Director Martin Wood does a fantastic job as do all the actors and actresses. I am looking forward to more of these to come! If your a stargate or sci-fi fan or even just a fan of anything good, don't miss this!

Very good, not outstanding

LMAO from from Leicester, 11th February, 2010

Hard for me to say, as a die hard SG1 fan, but not as good as the series. I found losing characters a bit much (even temporaril). Not the usual standard of script and action. That said, still SG1, and still enjoyable, just not as much as previously.

No different from the TV series

WestCountry from , 31st December, 2009

OK, it is a pleasant enough way to pass some time, but there appeared to be little extra quality in the script, acting and visuals compared to the tv series If you are a Stargate fan then you will probably enjoy it, otherwise you will probably wonder what the fuss is all about
