Conspiracy causes comic confusion in counterfeit classic cow town!

I can well believe that this production went straight to DVD, because certain elements of this ‘Action Movie’ make Stephen Seagal films look like classical Shakespeare. However the plot has some innovative points to it and despite the poor continuity and the amateur acting auditions, the end result is entertaining, especially in spotting the Goofs. Some of the characters are so awful that they are almost endearing and I am sure that the script was based upon 'The Fighting Kentuckian' meets 'Hard to Kill'. Indeed the set was worthy of any 1950’s Cowtown Classic and I expected Glenn Ford or Van Heflin to turn up at any second. Indeed it was the Director’s third movie and he was obviously on a budget, especially as he took screen play and acting rights in the production as well. Whilst lacking that certain ‘something’ that ‘El Mariachi’ had, if Adam Marcus had just adjusted the tempo and editing, then this film could have been so much better. I will not spoil the twist but it is sufficient to say that hero MacPherson (Val Kilmer) demonstrates how a one legged ass kicking competition should be run. Please, do not expect the solution to finding world peace, but at Tesco Rental prices this was worth the money for something to watch with a beer and pizza.
